Question v8 breathing help please..

Hi...need a little help with my 4.0 V8 s type, 2000 plate

Basically I've had leaking cam covers seals for a while now and finally decided i need to do something, as i am getting sick of the smell of burning oil and bits of smoke at traffic lights when i've been stood.

I decided to have the cam seals replaced, but before doing this i wanted to check the breather system. Looked on the forums and found the threads on the full load and half load breathers. Checked the full load with engine running and found it to be sucking air in through the cam cover. So i cleaned the part load breather, which was blocked up and put everything back together again. When i checked the full load breather after, it is still sucking air into the cam cover.

My question is what am i missing here?....what else could cause this to happen?....crank case breather?..if so where is it?

any help would be very much appreciated.

thanks!

I think that is what it is supposed to do. Suck in through the full load pipe and blow out through the other one.

thanks for the reply

so the part load sucks air from the engine into the throttle body and the full load pulls air from the air inlet, into the engine.....that doesn't seem right to me?...or am i missing something here...

Basically yes, but not into the throttle body but after it.
