Very strange window fault
Hi
I recently got a s type R 2006
the passenger window will not go down from drivers side
it works fine from passenger switch
and even goes up from drivers side
I thought problem with drivers window and mirror unit changed for a second hand one
exactly the same
I am stumped had a quick look a wiring between door and body but looks ok
any ideas

If it is not the mirror/pwr. window switch unit, my bet is on the electrical connection, and that includes wires and connectors. Corrosion on a single pin in a connector somewhere (the connectors in the doors come to mind) would do it. Clean pins of connector with wire brush where possible, and apply electrical contact spray CRC 2.26.
Take a look at the wiring diagram, near the top of this page:

Scroll down to figure 14.1. The passenger window motor assembly is shown towards the right. The passenger and driver's switchpack are seen at the left. Because the window operates correctly from the passenger's switchpack, you know all wiring between those points is good.
I would suspect a problem between splice CAS72 and terminal DD2-6 at the driver's switchpack. If the two switchpacks are easy to remove, you could check continuity between DD2-6 (driver's switchpack) and PD1-5 at the passenger's switchpack. Note how that path travels through connector DD8, located somewhere in the driver's door. That would be a likely spot for a problem.

Great advice from peter and kr.
I had a similar problem but much worse, the drivers window was giving me similar grief. Only difference was that it would go down (sometimes) but most times not come up!
Managed to get a whole used door loom and window switch. Never had a problem since. Must have been the plugs somewhere as well.
