Default Driver's window problem

After sitting in the garage for 2 months, I took the Jag out today and have a problem w/ the driver's window. When I open the door, the window goes down a fraction of an inch. But, when I close the door, the window does not roll back up. So, if I open the door multiple times, the window ends up almost all the way down.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it an easy fix?

You just need to reset the window. The passenger window is probably doing the same thing. Just roll it all the way down until it stops, then continue holding the switch for another 3 seconds or so until you hear a little click. Then roll it all the way up and once it stops continue holding the switch for 3 more seconds until you hear another click. That's all their is to it.

Any time the battery goes dead or you disconnect it you will have to reprogram the windows.

Good! That's the easiest fix ever. Any time you disconnect the battery you'll have to do it again.

...or it sits that long! A good investment, in periods of long storage (i'd say over a month) is to get a battery tender, it'll keep your radio stations in tact, your windows won't need programmed, and you won't be locked out of your boot either in a battery drain situation...especially if your jumper cables are in the boot!

I second h20boy's advice. I bought a decent battery charger/starter at Harbor Freight for only $25 with a coupon, but I've seen a couple of trickle chargers since then for $10-$15. They were little tiny things, not like the big thing I bought. They won't start your car if the battery is dead, but they'll keep the battery from going dead. If I remember correctly, one of them even plugged into your cigarette lighter so you didn't have to access the battery in the trunk.

This and all the other auto forums are great! I just had the same issue with my windows and here's the answer. I left the lights on and it ran down the battery. What's odd is if the headlights are left on the alarm sounds. But I just left the parking lights on and there wasn't an alarm.

Richmond XK, the window are also a good indicator that your battery is getting old and weak. If you can't get them to reprogram next step is to get the battery checked. Jack
