Default Water in Trunk

Ive never noticed anything like this before so I'm not sure how to go about solving this issue. I opened up my base board to acess my battery to check on my amp fuse today and noticed I've managed to accumulate water in the lower part of my trunk. I noticed this once before and soaked it up with a rag but it seems as if it comes back. Does anyone know if this may have something to do with the fact its been raining alot lately? I'm not sure how else it would get into that lower section.

You should so a search on this. I have before, because I, as well as a alot of other s type owners have had the same problem. It is do to a leak between the bumper and the and the base of the back where the trunk closes. Used some clear sealant to slove problem.

Thanks for the advice!!! I wasn't too sure what it could be- the first time I noticed it was after swapping out my battery- I had only noticed a few speckles. But after a heavy rain I noticed considerable water had come in. I figured I may want to look into it because I don't want the water to damage any of my audio equipment as I have wires back there for my amp. When you used the sealant what spots exactly did you look for to apply it to? Is there a particular section that simply doesn't make good contact>

Check out this post: https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_66363..._/tm.htm#66539

I followed the suggestions of applying silicone sealant at the body seams and it appears to fix the problem but I have not had a real heavy rain to fully test it.

such a common prblem that jaguar added duck bill drains on later models. it is usually a bad trunk seal. The best and cheapest thing you can do is to open up the drain or predrilled holes in the trunk floor, center towads the bumper covered by tar paper. You can see them under car, there are 2 rows of 5 holes, take a small screw driver and punch through these to open. since its in the center rear with all troughs leading to, any water that does get in will drain out keeping electronics safe.

Oh WOW I wasn't aware that this was such a big issue!!! I'll have to see if I can't get this taken care of when I get the chance between exam periods. For now- I was just going in and sticking a towel back there to collect the water. That's only going to work for so long though.
