Default What is this for?

There is a small cubby hole on the driver's left on my STR that I don't have any idea what purpose it serves. Any clue?

Probably to hold coins or other small objects.

You store some coins there. Covenient for parking meters. Mind you, too many coins, slide out during acceleration & end up on the floor.

Jaguar call it a Stowage Box (see item 15):

Most models have one and usually no mention is made of them in the Driver's Handbook. They come in various shapes and sizes and have one thing in common - practically useless!

If you have an STR it's not too useful!

I have yet to put anything in there with out it getting slung out and under my feet in a short time.

I've put change in there. If you mash on the STR's just a little, you'll be picking it up with great trepidation from beneath and on the side of the power drivers seat. (Laughing). I think you're right in principal but the slot is a failure at holding change. IMO....

That's odd!

The S-Type has a stowage box......
all the others models have a 'Driver's Oddment Box'

I couldn't help myself, sorry!
