Lack of heated mirrors, this is a safety issue.

Er, mine ARE heated! I'd think yours are too. The handbook says they're on when the rear heated screen is. See under Climate Control.

Having an S-type that sits in my driveway day-after-day, month-after-month that has a new heart and soul but isn't drivable Thus I can't find out what other irritating issues it has. At least I wont have any issues with the radio because it is being replaced with a double din Car-PC.

Regarding the car seat heaters, don't live somewhere where it gets below freezing, then you won't need them! (LOL)

1) tranny dipstick MIA

2) NAV system requires too many screens, not that i use it anyway

3) the lame sunglasses holder latch thingy on the overhead won't stay closed, seems like a POS design.

Chris:
The sun glasses holder has a latch that breaks. My sun glasses are curved to fit my face and do not fit the holder. I tried to push it closed anyway and then it would pop open with every little bump in the road. Mentioned it to the dealer and they replaced the latch. Sorry I don't have the part number handy but it was only about $15. Fixed it completely!

I'd be willing to make the move - got any leads on IT / EE jobs? Wanna start a company?

I agree with the lack of a tranny dipstick

Also...the dash snowflake....on all the time in winter

And....the rear defogger turn on automatically under 40 degrees, in my garage on a clear day....sich of turning it off every time I start the car.

Finally....lack of manual door lock/unlock button.

BTW.....how do you turn OFF the auto door lock feature????

I guess the '03 doesn't have the snowflake... Or if it does I've manually tuned it out.

Yes the rear defogger auto on is annoying as well.
We sort of have a lock / unlock button in the center console - but it cycles all the locks. I think the auto lock when the car goes into motion can be programmed / turned off via the Jaguar IDS computer, so a dealer would have to do it. PM or ask Brutal, I'm sure he would know.

My climate control lacks the button that indicates heated mirrors, and the mirrors themselves do not have any indication that they are heated. The car is at the shop right now waiting for several parts, but when I get it back I'll switch the rear on and see if the mirrors actually do heat.

To be really sure about the heated door mirrors, pop off the curved rear cover (shell) and there will be multiple wires attached to the glass if they're heated (2 wires, and another 2 for dimming). Then if they don't work you're looking at fuses, relays, wiring etc.

There's an arrow next to the gas tank symbol where the gas gauge is that points to the direction of the filler neck. All cars pretty much have them, not a lot people notice it though.

Thanks for the info tbird. Yeah mine did the same thing, wouldn't stay put. I "fixed" it with about $.02 worth of 3M adhesive tape. I might ask the dealer next time I'm over there for parts, just to quench my OCD, thanks for the tip. I can't see myself using it anyway.

Pretty much every European car I've owned has the gas door on the "passenger" side.
Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc. I think it's a Euro thing. Not because it's the Driver's side in the UK. Even the Porsche has it on the "Passenger" front fender.

Nuttin about the "S" annoys me.To me, she is what she is, and this is a bunch. My 03 STR's overall styling, smooth ride, and bruteforce still manages to evoke "Excitement", "Mystique", and "Intrigue" feelings in me. I can take her out tomorrow and kick the *** of most late model BMW, MB, or Ford or GM metal, and still feel and look like a well primped gentleman who just punched out a foe whilst remaining unscathed; clothing without a wrinkle. These "abilities" continue to supress or supercede cosmetic flaws, minor equipment dysfunction, or lack of proper engineering. There's nothing around that compares. The "S"'s retro-design will look new even in 20 years...she's timeless.
