What is the maximum hp we can get from a 2003 S Type R? And, How? Thx
I have seen the sc gear from the UK. Exhaust is pretty straight forward. But, what else can be done and how much power can be found in the STR. Any examples? Suggestions? Is it possible to get 600hp?
All feedback is totally welcomed.

If you have deep pockets then neer 700bhp is possible,
or around 600+ at the wheels . I might be being a little optimistic .
But talk to avos about his twin screw kit , or just type it in the search bar ,
As he has been there and done that ! I don't think the STR/s that he done was pushed quite that hard but given he achieved 700+ with the xkr 4.2 then it should be possable to at least come close .

Jagfun.
Good to see new members curious about what they can do to add power to their rides.
There are many posts on the forum about what can be done to the AJ-V8 engines. Take some time and search all of various Jaguar forums for Jaguar model cars with the AJ-V8s.
It reads like your STR is a high mileage car and you are thinking about increasing its reliability plus want to add some extra power. There are 2 approaches you can take to get a more reliable engine in your car. Put in a lower mileage used engine, or build up a replacement engine. (New long blocks from the dealers are very hard to find.)
Installing a used engine, that you refresh the engine to some degree, is the fastest and most cost effective. You can get additional HP by putting on the KB TS supercharger, but all the other bolt-ons wont gain you more than 30-40 HP. (There is Nitrous and water injection…)
If you decide you want to rebuild an engine, other than stock, it will turn into Pandora’s box. The AJ-33 engine in your car is optimized for around 400hp and if you want to get into Avo’s 600-700hp range, you will have to do a heck of a lot of planning and spend a lot of money. ($10K+) Most STR owners don’t think it is worth it to sink that much money into a depreciated worthless car. There are no mod kits like Chevy or Fords, and everything needed to support a high HP engine will have to be custom fabricated.
If you go the modified engine route, plan on a year to build up the engine. If you have deep pockets, you can pay a shop and they can do it in 6 months.
If you do decide to rebuild/modify an engine, there are 5-6 forum members that will be willing to share what they have discovered rebuilding and modifying their engines.

make sure the motor is tight....you can do a pulley, port and polish on the SC exhaust and air intake....call it good...going to be about as much as you are gonna wanna see...if you want more...move up to a 5.0 SC model many more options and much more power available...ive done a pulley and tune and am close to 570 at the crank , guessing, using the tuners numbers, and thats pretty good i think...love the STR ive had two, should not have sold my last one, if i had a three car garage i would have kept it
