Default windsheild scuttle panel and water

do you guys think its possible for water tobe entering my oils and plugs via the scuttle panel under the windshield, i have 6 fixings missing and i noticed two of the trim clip holes sit directly above coil number 4 and number 8?

Hi Darren,
Not being familiar with the S type, I would say that having coils open to water will eventually cause all sorts of problems, if it hasn't already.
There is a good scrapyard not far from you just outside Wickham if memory serves, try them, get the fixings you are missing and thoroughly dry everything out.
It may solve your problem.

There are threads about this, with details. Not sure they exactly apply to a 4.0 but could well. Have a read

A hosepipe will let you test any fix as well as assist in finding how water's getting in. Coils cannot cope with water!
