Default Windshield Wipers causes battery drain

The wipers are not working, if I jump the relay2 points 3 & 5, they will work, but need help to keep them going.
All Fuses are fine, I'm not getting power to Relay 2.
Does anyone know anything about this?
the car tries to test it and the wipers move from park to 1/4 the way up the windshield...and stay there while the car tries to test again and again untill battery is drained.

What is the year of manufacture because you need to check the wiring. You can download the electric diagrams from here jagrepair.com or the JTIS from here in the stickies.

Wiring diagrams here, scroll to section 13.1:

http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto...x2022001en.pdf

You mentioned jumpering contacts 3 to 5 in relay #2, but the motor still struggled. That same circuit also goes through relay #1. I wonder if the contacts could be burned on relay #1. Try swapping in a known-good relay from another position. I think the fog light relay (#7) is the same part number.

Here's damage I found on a similar relay on my '02:

Thank You, I will try, I did swap 1 and 2, I thought they had the same #.
I will check with relay 7.

I think the circuit travels through both relays 1 and 2. If so, swapping them with each other won't help. Find two others that are known good and try that.

Groovy, glad to hear you got the wipers fixed. I'd suggest replacing that suspect relay you moved to the fog light circuit, even if the lights are now working. The fog lights probably draw less current than the wiper motor, so are able to operate with a marginal relay.

If nothing else, installing a new relay for the fog lights would mean you've got a good spare you can rob in case the wipers act up again.

Thanks again, do I need to go to a Jaguar dealer for the relay parts.
Having trouble finding them online?

Battery died again? something electrical?
it ran great yesterday...but...when I turned of the engine the auto climate control kept running, I had to turn it off manually.
do you think it could be the Relay problem. Is there a way to test the relay to see if it is good?

No, these relays are readily available from other sources. Those are Ford relays with a very expensive Jaguar part number. You can also get aftermarket, but watch out for some of the cheaper brands. Personally, I'd go with MotorCraft for OEM quality at a decent price:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044EEX2E/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I24M8NU2KSP4LX&colid=2L0QNSIJMC8K2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044EEX2E/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I24M8NU2KSP4LX&colid=2L0QNSIJMC8K2

Per the picture at Amazon, the MotorCraft part number just has a different prefix:

5M5T-14B192-AA

Jaguar:

XR83-14B192-AA
