Default Wing mirror oops-sorry-pardon

SWMRN thought the road was wide enough for her and the oncoming van. It wasn't.
The mirror lens was cracked but the left-right adjuster had died.
Found on one ebay and hoped to change the glass and the motor plate.
Unfortunately, two out of the three fixing screws for same sheered just under the head.
Replacing the whole assembly was lengthy but straightforward.

However. I have a question;- why are there four wires to the mirror glass? Two for the defroster, the other two? Radio aerial?

Figure 10.2 shows two wires for the heater.
Figure 10.3 shows two wires for the electrochromatic (dimming) function.
