I am looking at a 2000 s-type 3.0? What is it that I should be looking for (problems)?

I am now a proud owner of a 2000 S-Type 3.0. I will be selling my 95 xj6 4.0 that was in “The Essential Buyers Guide” page 11 by Peter Crespin and keeping our 99 xk8. I have read several posts and other than the typical Jaguar problems Trans, Coil packs, A/C, window regulator and head lights I am unaware of other issues. I had replaced both the front and rear window regulators and polished the headlights back to life. I had the transmission cable adjusted and replaced the plugs, 2 coil packs, brakes front and rear. If you can put me in the right direction for additional opportunities I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You! I will look into the wipers and see if I have a potential problem. I will be working on it for the next few weeks and will see what I got.

Gus,
Watch your coolant expansion tank for leakage, valve cover gasket oil leaks and suspension bushings. It seems like you have everything covered pretty well so far. I have a 2000 3.0 SE and its been a great car for the past 10 years.
best wishes VMV

The early S-Types are prone to water leaks at the trunk seals, and sometimes at the taillight cluster seals. So check your seals and keep them pliable with a rub-on product such as Sil-Glyde....
