Xenon lights - What's wrong?
I had a problem with my left light looking very down after I closed (slammmed?)the bonnet. I asked Jaguar to have a look and I have been told that the headlight needed complete replacement at £850 a piece. They said they could do a manual adjustment so I went for this option but when I got the car back, both lights were down! Asked them to look at it again, this time I have to replace both lights at my cost (at the same price each)!! and no better manual adjustment possible.
With nothing to loose I decided to have a look at the lights myself. (It needs removing the front bumper).
I read here people thinking that the problem is with the stepper motor but in my case it is not.
The two white screws used for the position adjustment actually adjust the position of the axis around which the lights will turn when they are pushed by the stepper motor axis.
In my case the link between one of the screw and the lights is broken. The stepper motor works but then pushes the lights around one axis only.
Below are some pictures of the broken part (rubbish, very brittle material) and how it should look when remade with superglue. What is missing is the ball at the end of the part which goes into the ball joint.
I plan to replace this with a small aluminium block with a screw in to allow the adjustment.
I do not want to disable completly the autoleveling.
I will let you know when I have them working again.

Damn fine fix if I do say so myself. Just a note....if you are in the UK, you could order the parts from the US and would be half the price due to the exchange rate. Nice to know that even though the parts are made over there, you guys get raped on the pricing too.

Same problem happened to me. This is a on and going problem with all the xenon headlights I guess. To simplifyyour fix,All you need to do is reach inside the assembiles and move both projectors up have them set in one position. The projectors in my assemblies were moving around.,Next youput the tubes that comes with the headlights in back of the hibeam bulbs so it can stay in one place. Then your finished.
