Your thoughts on Painting Brake Calipers
So usually I wouldn't post this kinda stuff on a regular forum but this part of the boards is usually slow so I figure it can use any thread it can get, lol.
Anyways as most of us know the 05+ STR has black calipers with silver "pad covers" with a black |R logo inside the silver pad cover.
Well mine were getting kinda rusty and faded so I figured I'd paint them.
Now just to give a little background I also blacked out the rear lights and the side markers and tinted the windows pretty dark to give it the kinda sleeper look I'm going for. That being said I'm kinda concerned that the all red brakes cause it to stand out too much.
I'm considering painting them silver instead or painting the caliper black and the pad covers silver like they were factory.
What are your thoughts based upon personal taste and understanding the look I'm trying to accomplish?
(On a side note I'll be lowering it about 1.25" in a couple weeks)
Also yes I know the car is very dirty. The tree ***** on it.

I painted my callers on the front a gun metal grey
The R logos are springs on the front and screw on plates on the rear
I just got new ones and fitted.https://www.dropbox.com/s/pm4q7c5g1a...2011.07.47.jpg

My personal opinion is that any floating caliper should be not painted, or if painted, maintain the factory color, or paint them a color that doesn't stand out. I think it looks cheezy for car owner to paint floating calipers red. Floating calipers are ugly!
You can only get away with bright colored big brake fixed calipers if you have Brembos, Wilwood, PBR, Alcon, RB racing...
When Jaguar stopped using Brembo calipers, it took away from the "Look" that I liked. Therefore the current floating rotors should be left the stock color or not be a prominent feature that stands out.
