Default ZF transmission Service Kit

I used this kit last weekend to service the transmission on my '05 STR. It comes with a new pan, sleeve, and 7 liters of ZF Lifeguard. The only catch I had with the procedure was getting the old mechatronic sleeve out. I did not realize there is a white plastic clip inside the transmission case that must be slid out to allow the sleeve to pull free. Once that's done, it comes right out

Amazon Amazon

My car is new enough that it has T40 screws holding the pan on. However, yours might have T27. Do not be tempted to use T25. You WILL strip them out and then sadness will ensue.

Cheers,

Ken

Ken, great that you DIY'd the service on your ZF autobox. Unfortunately, you did not research entirely here on the forum to get very specific instructions on the full procedure including how to easily replace the mechatronic electrical sleeve.
