I put up a Cover Tech 12' x 30 ' for my 24' boat on the trailer (Winter Storage Canada.) It's about 5 years old has stood OK , the fabric on the corners are starting to show their age, but alittle Duct Tape and we are OK for another year.

My 12 x 20 made it through our Buffalo winter... knock on wood. No real snow on top, as it sloughs off, but it was piled up about half way up the sides from regular snow and where it slid off the roof. I wish I took pictures. Too depressing.

My neighbor has this portable garage and it is super sturdy and nice, but definitely looks more expensive than other options. Since you just mention if being good, I assume it would be a great fit for those that care more about quality than staying on budget or anything.

I also don't know if that building counts as "temporary" or "permanent". I've seen other people in the neighborhood complain but it's still up so who knows. I personally don't mind.

 

How tall is your garage? I'd consider getting a lift to fit multiple cars into the garage if it'll fit.

 

I put this one up, it lasted 4 years 5th year the cover rotted. Very stable in high wind.

I've lost two of the light duty variety, to the wind!!! My efforts to weigh them down with steel and then pails of water not good enough. Tying them to the Jeep worked best. Trees now shade the Jeep, so the 'tents" no longer needed


A couple of neighbors use them, wit ends and sides closed. so far, so good.


My son needed shelter for some of his cars and machinery up in the Sierra Madre. He found a pair. Army surplus. Squad tents, similar to the Ones seen on Mash, but of a later version. Probably Vietnam era. Vinyl over canvass. Much tougher. A bit of extra framing makes them secure and weather resistant. No snow load to contend with at that elevation, though.

If you are replying to me, "Harbor Freight" It has 6 round disk anchors they will not pull up. When I unscrewed them out of the ground 5 years later they were in new condition.Powder coated.
Wife is going to make a green house out of it.
I still have a new one still in box.

I had one about 15 - 18 years ago in central Massachusetts. It just couldn't stand up to the New England winter. Another portable building that doesn't tolerate New England winters is the arched building type. One collapsed under snow load in Rutland, Massachusetts during the time I had mine.

 

I've been doing a bit of research on these portable garages for snow load as well - there's a great video review of one that seems to stand the test of time on youtube -

Update: this is my shelter's sixth winter and it still has no signs of significant wear.I like that it blocks all light so my car is always in the dark when parked. Note that I bought Cover-Tech's "Portable One Car Garage" and not the lighter "Blizzard Series".
