Check engine light on (which I cleared) due to some "communication lost" messages - I have no reason to doubt Philip that if I didn't have the equipment to clear them, they would have gone away on their own.

I guess now we watch and wait a few days to see what things I can notice. I also think that I will be treating myself to the pulley install now that there's a Eurocharged shop just up the road
Hey stmcknig,

I hope you have had the same positive experience that I had with Eurocharged. Here is a write-up I made when I flashed my vehicle with their tune and installed their pulley:

Hope this gives you a bit of useful information!

I had the exact experience today... Sent off my file. Not sure what the turn-around time is. But Philip answered all my questions prior to my purchase and was very quick on the responses.
When I was picking my car on the controller, it had a 4.2L engine, but the regular V8 (not supercharged). I called and spoke with another fellow there who told me to give it a go with those settings, and it worked fine.
As mentioned above, I did have a lingering engine light on with a code about losing communication, which seems to be expected. I reset it with my OBD2 reader/software and all is clear and functioning normally while I wait for the return file.

My only complication with the process (other than what I called about) was my Norton Anti-virus. I had to temporarily disable while the software installed and downloaded updates to my PC. Made me a little nervous, but all seems well.

I did hook my battery to a battery to a Noco Genius G3500 during the process... and for a while after.

One thing you need to be aware of is the presence of the pulley makes warranty issues a little more "interesting". When it's heated to install, it turns gold. So it definitely stands out.

From driving my car with and without the pulley, I would have been fine with just the tune. The pulley actually makes it more difficult to drive smoothly because the power down low is what it really adds, to you either lose traction or TC kicks in (or both) depending what mode you're in.

I've said it many times that if I had it to do again, and if you have warranty left on the car, I wouldn't do the pulley. The likelihood of them searching in the ECU is much lower without it on than with if you have drivetrain issues.

Thanks for your insights - I don't have warranty left on my 2010 XFR and have my work done at an indie Jag shop so that's less of a concern. However your points on "drivability" are interesting, I wasn't looking to really add more unusable HP but get a more keen throttle response which I guess is more the job of the tune.

Anybody else had a pulley upgrade and would agree with the opinion above for a daily driver ?

I got quoted about two hours labor to install the pulley which I guess could go toward the Mina exhaust. That might be a better initial spend would you say ? ;-0

Yes without a doubt the Mina is money well spent. I've had mine for awhile now and I can't say enough good things about it. The sound is a perfect mix between aggressive and tame. Parking garages and underpasses are fun again and it turns heads on the street too. The look of confusion from people hearing something so snarly coming from a car so classy looking is priceless!

I was quoted three hours for the pulley install. I ordered a pulley remover/installer specific to the 4.2L engine from EuroToysLtd. It came fast and apparently worked great at the shop. (they bought the tool from me) Note, installing the pulley that way didn't make it turn color.

I've had it on for just over a week and I am loving it. You can hear the supercharger whine more, and it just seems noticeably more responsive. Granted, I haven't had it on that long, but so far I'm very happy I did it.

Ended up getting an ECU tune prior to the exhaust... But I plan on doing the exhaust soon. Well, as soon as I can save up some money for it. Looking forward to that sweet sound!

Get the tune then decide if it's really needed after the exhaust. The combination of more power and torque from the tune will give you better resoonse and more noise from the exhaust should keep you happy.

$650 for the tune with the MyGenius programmer with free shipping but not including Texas sales tax :-(

It was very helpful reading. I have just had a dyno run after the tune has been in a week or so. Still debating on the pulley - trying to find out what the stock XFR boost is before making the decision....
