Default 2005 XJR transmission pan filter tube broke

So one way or another the filter tube in my new transmission pan broke. Is there any substance I can use to fix it or will nothing hold up to its function? I really wanted to get this thing in this weekend, but it looks like I may have to wait another week if I need a new one.

Your going to need to replace it... Or, return it to the place you purchased as a manufacturer defect...

+1 on abonano's response.

Unfortunately, the qualities that make certain plastics suitable for these kinds of automotive uses also make them impossible to repair with commonly-available adhesives. And if you were able to repair the tube and it broke off again while you were driving the car, the transmission would be toast in no time, so it's just not worth the risk.

Please keep us informed.

Cheers,

Don

Was this an OE ZF pan? Or aftermarket?

Undoubtedly aftermarket, it was like $45 on ebay. I've heard much positive feedback on them however.

I would look for something with a bit better quality...
