Just picked up my XE (R-Sport)
The car looks quite different from the Mexico-spec car that I test drove 3 weeks ago at my local dealership. The SA did say the US-spec car would be different, but didn't say how.
The first big difference is the silver bar in the middle of the side air dams.
The second big difference is the brakes are not colored red.
Here are pictures of the car I drove:

nhpip,
Did you drive the car before ordering it?
What were you driving before this?
How are you liking it so far? Would be interested if you can post a review of your driving impressions and also thing you like/don't like about it.
Thanks.

Pros:
* Great handling
* Great performance
* Almost drives itself
* Looks gorgeous
Cons:
* Some "extra" features should IMO be standard in a car that is approximately $50,000 (e.g. the top-spec stereo, driving aids etc).
Some people think the interior looks basic and cheap, totally disagree with the last point. I wouldn't in anyway call it basic, but it doesn't look like the inside of a living room that some top-end cars look like. It's very comfortable and provides what you need to drive. So I can't really fault the interior either.
Past car? lol....A Nissan Juke, so a bit of a step up (although my wife's / the family car is a Land Rover Discovery Sport).
What options did you get?
My thinking is that if I go this route I will get the base car + dynamic suspension. No other options. The MSRP for that is about $52K, and I'm told that's what I will have to pay until they start getting more inventory.

Is R-Sport a US branding thing, or are both R-Sport and S available in other countries?
35t has 340. S has 380.
From my XF, I find 340 far more than enough. Its already easy to get the car far past the legal limits while barely exploring the throttle.
When I drove the 35t XE - the 340 in that was BEASTLY.
I am weird though in that I thought a 35T R-Sport for $52k for over priced, but I thought my XF was cheap for what you got.
Probably no S model in the U.S because Jaguar is tracking the Germans and 35T already competes with the 335i. The next-up XE will be the XE-R. Speculation and rumors has is that the R will sport a V8 with 450+ HP, + totally revamping tuning.
That its likely to be priced at 65k and a loaded 35T hits over 50k - explains why no S in the USA. In Europe there is a model for every nook and cranny of the buying market.
Go drive the car again and then immediately drive to the Lexus dealer and driver the IS350 F-Sport. Then you will know which car you want (and its probably going to start with a J

I did find the car very engaging but I want to drive a US spec car before ordering.
In Oz we have the R-sport in the 4 pot diesel and petrol engines - it is a cosmetic and suspension pack for want of a better explanation. The XE S is the 250KW/340HP supercharged 6 out of the base f type. The F type S has the 380 HP engine, but our XE S has the 340.
I have the f type S, my missus has the XE 25T R sport. The XE is such a beautiful car to drive, the seats are sooo comfy, it makes the f type seem very hard. But the 8 speed gearbox is much better suited to the 6 than the 4, IMO.

Yes, it looks like this version (the one tested by C&D) also had 340 HP.
2017 Jaguar XE S Test ? Review ? Car and Driver
I want R Sport only for the seats. If those seats were available in the 25t, that's what I would be researching.

Yep, they are the same seats as in my missus' car though hers are black with white stitching. They are extremely comfy, and while the "taurus" leather isnt top spec, it is plenty soft enough and the perforations are a nice touch. They are much more comfy than the previous gen XF seats.
I barely notice how hard the performance seats in my f type are (they are actually more comfy when you drive the car hard), but when I get into the XE my **** thanks me.

NHPIP, Car looks awsome. Is the color Dark Sapphire? You don't see many of those(I've been trolling the UK forum for 7 months), so even more rare. Hard to tell in the shade. Post some pics in the sun when you can. You can also post all your options in your signature. My XE should be here the end of the week, I hope!
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
