I think it would be more awkward to be next to another X150 at a light and try to ignore each other than to just acknowledge each other and get it over with whether you like it or not.

A polite nod is in good form. Like when you are taking a leak and someone uses the urinal next to you. You nod to say "Nice *****, I have one too!".

Be careful. These days there is no guarantee that the person next to you has a *****. It may just be a "wanna be" trying out a new bathroom.

Climb into the hand basket guys, we are going down quickly.

A simple thumbs up or nod is all it takes...

Perfect simile. It was nothing more than gentlemen making good of an otherwise awkward moment.

You cant do that anymore, cause there are so many other possibilities other than two incompatible humans answering the call of nature. Most likely its an undercover cop.

The other day I saw another XJL that looked just like mine...same rare 'Quartz' color and everything, cruising alongside me through several traffic lights. I must admit I did not feel too good cos I no longer felt exclusive. If it's a different color I probably would have felt better. There was no attempt by either party at exchanging greetings. I guess the feelings were mutual, haha!

Lots of Jags in Vancouver….. no nods, no big deal. When I'm out with the T-bird, top down it seems that young and old look at the car……. not many on the road I guess.

Nice T-bird. I can understand why people would notice - I doubt I've ever let one pass through my peripheral vision without focusing in. I think Ford did an excellent job of capturing the design queues of the original "baby bird". I wonder if these owners wave when they see one of the "big birds" or "square birds" in traffic?

My old XK was bought by someone who lives down the street from a close friend of mine in Waltham, MA! He saw the car a couple of times and thought it could be the same. He went up to the car and it has a dealer sticker from the place I traded it in to! I'll leave my car on the car the next time I am in that neighborhood; in case he has any questions!

Here in the Princeton area I don't see many Jags. Tons of LR's driven by the mommy set. The popular "image" car seems to be the Tesla.

I have not passed a Jag locally so I have no idea about waves. I expect the Princetonians are too aloof for that sort of nonsense. They are not "enthusiasts". Back in the 60's people who bought Jags, Vettes, T-Birds etc. were car enthusiasts and the wave was an acknowledgment of a bond. "We are car nuts." That is mostly gone now.

Waving or signalling in any way in this regard is tribal behaviour; by that I mean that you recognize the other Jaguar driver as a member of your tribe - his failure to return the acknowledgement is a failure to accept or validate this tribalism.
Jaguars are no longer an endangered species in the automotive world, hence the lack of interest among some owners to declare membership in an exclusive club.

what he said...when I had my alfas the headlights would be flashing and arm waving wildly...same with air cooled 911's.

I miss that

I see more and more XKs around here. Up to 2 or 3 per week on average now.

My Saab 9-3 wagon is actually rarer.

I don't think I waved on Monday if anyone is keeping count.

I see maybe only 1 Jaguar XK a month. Sometimes I go a whole month and never see one. Lately I see at least 1 F Type every month

I caught up with this Spanish owner south of Madrid.

Cold shoulder from XKR owner-dsc_0575c.jpg

We both pulled into the next service station and had a chat. I hadn't seen another XK since leaving home 1400 miles away the previous day and he hadn't seen another one since he bought his XK six months earlier.
