Default Going for XF Sportbrake

Greetings. I just came home from almost three weeks in England, in particular Yorkshire and Wiltshire (plus A1 and M2 and whatever motorways to get back and forth to Dover).

Two things strikes me: that there seem to be no limit for how small a roundabout may be and that your speed limit for country roads is utterly nuts, considering how I experienced English driving (too fast and careless on smaller roads).

Lady Bea
I bought my X-Type in 2009, it was a German import initially, and aside for some initial electronic woes, it has fulfilled an exemplary duty over the years and is about to celebrate its 10 anniversary/300.000KM soon'ish. Been in Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland. Have driven on narrow middle-age, town center roads as well as Autobahn at 200 KM/H. Mountain roads in the Alps, heavy rain in Yorkshire, dusty highways at Mallorca, and the fast paced curved Croatian motorways around Split. Always came out on top, always dusted those ugly German/Italian/French cars.

Have reason to believe it is one of the best kept X-Types in Sweden. For this autumn or spring we will get an XF Sportbreak, the big diesel one. Since I drive a lot (40.000 KM/Year) it does not seem to make sense getting a Petrol one.

As for me (I see now I can not edit posts) I work with IT Systems at Mercedes-Benz/Daimler AG, manage Web CMS operating systems on my spare time, including several forums, and have a wife/dog/three moved-out kids, in order of appreciation.

Now this is embarrassing, I have a typo in XF Sportbrake above, but since I can not edit my post....

Maybe I should complement with what car I got.

Fatter tyres in the rear 265/45/18, front 245.

Why 18? Well because I want more comfort by having a bit more rubber between rims and asphalt. Those are the XK 2008:ish rims. Original.

Welcome.

Oh, a Wagon version of the XF, that will take 10 years to appear here IF ever.

They wont manufacture it anymore. It has been cancelled for the facelifted XF we see in stores now and no plans to bring it back.

Last proper Sports Estate any brand available. IMO.
