Hi Steven, Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Jag. Barring some issues it is a great car if you maintain it properly.

Yes there are cold air intakes for the STR; however, if you are after power increase keep in mind that there is very little to make sensible difference, the main difference your see is in engine roar everything else is psychological rather than real. At one point in the past I too looked into upgrading to a CAI but after a lot of research I gave up and instead focused on the maintenance (tranny and diff oil, some bushings, sparkplugs, and so on). The main upgrade you can tackle and that'd make a quantifiable difference is upgrading pulley followed by porting the supercharger. The pulley comes with a downside in the sense that the engine working temperature will increase; to overcome common problems from increased engine temp you'd want to go waterless coolant (Evans) as it will virtually eliminate pressure in the cooling system and protect your head gasket.
Regards
Bob

For +100HP or so, go twin screw.

Hi bdragomir. Thanks for the info,
I've looked at a lot of different threads on the forum before joining or even buying my STR.
I am initially trying to unleash the growl from the big cat before I start on the performance upgrades.
Got the car booked in for custom tailpipes at the weekend to give it that nice throaty roar.
I've also removed the flap from the air box and fitted a k&n panel filter which has given the car a better induction noise and I would like to add the cold air intake next purely because of what I've read about it on the forum as everything has been positive and sounds like the type of mod I'm looking for next to get the sound I'm looking for out of my STR
Cheers.

Hi jagV8, thanks for your info also.
This could possibly be the next thing on the agenda.
Think I may mess around a bit firstly though and try changing the pulley and adding a full exhaust system when I get started on the performance upgrades.
Cheers

I do not offer an induction pipe for the na jags unfortunately.

Best regards.

in the case of the STR, there have been dyno proven gains of 10'ish HP, with the intake tube + K/N drop-in filter combo.

Supercharged engines are very sensitive to inlet restrictions; check out what some of the intakes on other supercharged cars yield in dyno-proven gains.

For about $250usd, the intake tube is arguably the best value modification on these cars.

The other bolt-on mods for these cars, such as high-flow-cats/2.5" exhaust, or pulley upgrade or ECU tune, are all quite a bit more expensive, and make only mild gains as well, $250 for 10hp is pretty good.

From the drivers seat, will you really notice a 10hp gain? not likely, but you'll also have that look and sound from under the hood that you wouldn't have otherwise,

If you want to make that substantial 100-250hp gain, one which will really put you back in your seat, requires something like the avos twin screw kit.

Just got back from the workshop working on the ideas for the carbon fibre air intake system. While there we knocked up one of the 'standard' type air intake tubes and have decided to offer these as a stage 1 kit (please forgive the blue silicon in the pictures if anyone wants one it will come with black silicon and stainless jubilee clips.

The major difference between ours and the normal ones is that you dont need to cut the oil breather hose or even replace it! this tube will accept the jaguar push on fitting, reducing the need to chop yours and allowing you to return to stock easily and without damage.

Also the end nearest the cast part of the inlet has been shaped to better resemble the oval shape providing better asthetics and a smoother transition from the round 3 inch T304 stainless pipe to the oval.

I can offer these for £105 complete with the 2x silicon joiners (in black), polished finish and 4x stainless jubilee clips plus fitting instructions. Installation should take no longer then 15-20 mins and the gains have all been proven. I will be doing dyno comparisons between stock, stage 1 and stage 2 (carbon full intake) as soon as the carbon one is done.

Delivery costs to the UK will be £5, if there is any interest from abroad will get the shipping costs for these as and when.

Some pictures.

The tubes will come polished as in the picture and fit very well. (It was raning on this one!)

Click this bar to view the full image.

Turned stainless fitting TIG welded to the tube for jaguar oil breather hose.

Standard oil breather fitted (sorry about the pic quality)

If anyone is interested let me know and we will go from there.

Cheers.

as stated , kwikets has dyne pulls with his version of the caldoofy j pipe
and with standard j pipe ,
the difference was between 9 and 12hp , but i think the best parts about the mod are both the look of it and the sound of it .
if you want to live up to your name then buy one .
or if you have the facilities and know how then make your own .
i made my own , though not as fancy pants as caldoofy's stainless one, as mine is just alloy , I'm very happy with it

Caldoofy ... I've sent you a private message on the UK Forum regarding an order. Thought I'd post here to let you know in case you're on here more often! Many thanks.

I've tried that but comes up with no option to pm, I've looked in my user account and it says I don't have enough privileges to be able to use this function
