02 x-type 2.5 auto I need to know what they are called or part numbers so I can call for prices, or can I just use regular heater hoses to make my own?

17 looks correct, it goes under the cowl and I didn't realize it split there, I think it's this one.(link). crazy price, I think I'll just cut it and use a coupling to connect where I cut it. there's just a pin hole about 5"'s from the reservoir....looking again that pic you have don't look like my set up. is that an 02 x type pic? Look at pic 2 and it ends at the left side of the rad. hose. it's long but I think 1 long hose

Louvit, I have attached what I think is what you are looking for. The diagrams are for the cooling system and the way they are in the catalogs. They are one section for the coolant and one section for the heater hoses.
The hose link you posted from ebay is the wrong hose. See the diagram under Picture 1.
The hose you have in place currently in picture 2 is not a Jaguar hose. The hose from Jaguar is a hose pipe assembly and runs from the tower fitting on the passenger side to a connection on the drivers side.
Someone previously has fitted a preformed section of hose from an auto parts store after cutting off the hose and fitting from the pipe. There is a lot of postings cautioning against this but it is a $160.00 hose from the OEM.
Of course the result is what you see on the hose you have. If you want to replace like you have it you will need to find a friendly auto parts clerk that will let you rummage thru the preformed hoses until you find one you like.

The alternative is to buy OEM and forget about problems for a few years.

looks like hose #6 is the one from the coolant overflow tank my picture #1. That's the one I have taped up. the pic 2 is not really leaking yet but it will soon.

ok I just looked the taped up hose starts at the overflow tank and ends here. It is one long flimsy hose that I think can be made out of heater hose. where it goes under the cowl near the tape it's just clipped up there.but it is only 1 hose not split anywhere.. for information only...

You are correct that is the system vent hose and you can replace it with small diameter heater hose. I think it is 1/4 inch or the metric equivalent.
The other hose as i said before is a preformed hose that someone has fitted to the pipe. It is normally a crimped assembly. The old price books have it at around $11.00 from the dealer.

went to the store and they only had 5/16 hose. The original is 1/4. I used it anyway. Is there a lot of pressure on that hose. Will it be enough pressure for it to pop off. It felt tight when I clamped it. I need to find a store with 1/4"

The hose sees cooling system pressure about 15 psi. It should feel tight on the barbs as you push it on. It may hold fine you should just keep a check on the coolant level

the 5/16 leaked off the tank side. I got a 1/4 from another place but didn't have the right clamps,I have to go get screw clamps, there's squeeze clamps on the now. the hose is thinner walled...lol.. I can't catch a break here.

this hose will be the end of me....the 1/4" fits on the tank but not on the front part. I think this hose is 2 different sizes on the end....lol. maybe that's why you need to buy dealer parts... I'll make the 1/4" fit somehow I'll rheem out 1 end of it. I really didn't spend a lot of time on it. It's too hot to be working in a parking lot in Florida. Funny thing is that the tape is holding fine, hardly leaks a bit....lol

I would just go to Jaguar and get the OEM part.
As the old saying goes: "If you haven't got time to do it right, you better have time to do it over!"
