Default Passenger seat back - can't move

On my 2006 XK8 the passenger seat is all the way back and the seat switch does not work. How can I get to the rear seat bolts to remove seat for seat module repair/replacement?

You will see the module is at the front of the seat and is held on by two bolts. No need to take the seat out to remove the module.

I've tried to remove seat module without removing seat but have not been successful. Part of the problem is that the weather here is about 100 degrees and that it takes a contortionist to get to the bolts/nuts. Is there a way to get to the rear bolts to remove seat when all the way back?

Normally the seat tilt function will still work when the module goes bad. Try to raise the front of the seat as high as possible and it will aid in removing the module. You might also want to take the drivers module and put it into the passenger seat so you can position the seat where you want it while you wait for the repaired module. They are the same module
The forum go to guy for repairing these module is Darrell Turner his telephone number is 858-649-9090 text him and let him know you are with the forum and you can make arrangements for repair. His service is the best.

I don't think everyone is talking about the same situation, that's the problem with trouble shooting on the net.

First, you can't access the rear bolts, so lets drop that.

Go to the drivers seat. According to the owners manual you can adjust the height. I don't know your car, but on mine you can't adjust the passenger seat height. So raise the drivers seat, or even take it out, and positively identify the two nuts that hold the module in. Almost forgot, always disconnect the neg. batt. cable bwfore working on the electrical system.

Once you know the two nuts location you should be able to release the module by feel. If I recall correctly, the mount is slotted and you do not need to remove the nuts.

As mentioned previously, you can use the drivers side module to move the seat forward to remove the bolts once you have the passenger seat module removed.

I agree with RJ.
If you can wait til morning I have a seat out of one of my parts car. I can take a photo of the bottom of the seat so you now what it looks like. It will save you taking yours out.

First photo module is still in place but nuts are off. If I remember they are 10mm.

Second photo module is out. You may have to pull a little hard because the wiring harness gets stuck. You can also see the slotted bracket the module was on.

Hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.
Good luck.

..... bracket securing bolts are easier to reach.

My driver's seat module looks similar to BobRoy's photos, but the passenger seat module which does not work looks, as far as I can tell, more like GGG's photo. In BobRoy's photos, are the bolts attached to the module or to the seat? In GGG's photos to which are the bolts attached?
It looks like the module in BobRoy's photos just needs to be slid over and pulled our after the nuts are loosened.

On my seat, which is a 97 xk8, you don't have to remove the nuts completely. The studs are on the module.
