New to Jaguar ownership, in canada, purchased a one owner, garage stored 1990 xjs v 12 last year, 83000km, looks like the best technical forum ive found so far, cheers gents, i will be active here once i start having to work on her.

thanks, this one isn't completely rust free, but its the closest i think you'll find that's never been painted. So far I've done very little to it, I picked it up from a doctor where it sat in her garage for the last 8 years because it wouldn't start, I rolled the dice, and towed it home, turns out, someone flipped the inertia switch and I had it running within an hour

Everything works in this car, all electrics and gauges are flawless. I've had to remove the headliner and rebuild it, basically the shell fell apart when i removed it, so I reassembled the pieces and rebuilt the shell and put new fabric on it. It passed safety without having any repairs, doesn't leak any oil, and passed emissions first go. Jaguar rebuilt the engine in 1996 due to warranty issues, so I really don't know how many K's are actually on this engine. It will need some work, i'm going to get to replacing all the bushings, bearings and everything so I don't ever have to do it again, I don't plan on putting a ton of miles on this car and It definitely wont be driven in winter.

I was very lucky with this one.

I always think black interiors go so well with the dark wood. Lovely. I have a plain old doeskin one. But then again, I'm not usually looking at the interior while driving....
Good luck with the car. I've only driven mine a few times, but appear to be hooked....

Nice looking car you have there. An original car as a staring point you are well ahead of most of us here.

As Doug said a well running XJS is a wonderful car. They eat up the miles with effortless ease from the drivers seat. It's by far the most comfortable long distance cruiser I have owned.
