Not being funny PolkNole but how does someone holding a camera very shakily whilst your driving tell us your car handles like its on rails, there's loads of tyre squeal and personally you don't look like your going that fast imo.
Don't get me wrong i love beemers especially M5's, i had an E39 M5 for 9 years which had over 450bhp and i can assure you it didnt do 0-60 much under 5 secs if at all.

Its the same engine. Boost is the magic ingredient that BMW added to unleash more power. I just did it years before they did.

lately it seems bmw has been on the quest to build cars that will appeal to a broader audience, and the M division is no exception. For example an E46 M3 would be much harder to live with in comparison to the current M4...todays car has lighter steering, ride quality is plush, fuel economy is better, the car is bigger to fit more things, i can go on...you cant argue that As a car or on paper todays BMWs are objectively better. But not really for the same reasons we loved and praised them for in the past
+1 I still enjoy driving my E46 330ci 5 speed. I looked at a 435i last year and I agree that BMW has lost its soul understandably in the quest for market share and profits. What made a BMW special in terms of an affordable driver's car has left the brand. I don't see myself in a new BMW in the future as I once did.

Two weekends ago run to the Dragon, two 06 and two 07s, all super charged, all 600+hp and I pulled away on the highway ... standing start may be a different question ... none of these cars could pull away from me in the twisties ... M4 was even worse ... and I overtook it ...

When I take my younger brother to the track, I insist on driving his Mazda 3 with all-seasons to keep reassuring him that you don't need a fancy car to enjoy it. Occasionally, I get to pass people. Does it mean that Mazda 3 is at all, in any way shape or form is optimal for the track?

That would be presumptuous ... just saying the F Type is a much better handling car than people give it credit, heavy, yes, I feel more confident on twisties in it than in my 997 turbo front wheeled push ... the e-diff will eventually over heat from the weight and torque out of the turns ... but it is very well mannered and stays very level for such a heavy car... the old M3s very monsters the new turbo 6s need such a wind up ..... aaaaaand already gone ...
yeah but against what ... a track built M4 GTS???? Again on the street the M4 has no chance and it is not just about traction (the Ftype has arguably more torque way sooner) and I am not on Laguna Seca, these lap times are absolutely meaningless and even these journalists can't touch the times that Randy puts up despite driving the dang circuit all the time. The Corvette with the front mid engine design I am sure would also be faster on the track that does not disprove that I pulled away ...
