You are correct. Now I need to see if I have the rear one somewhere in the car. I bought it new. I do have two extra front ones that the dealer gave me.

I think you should immediately discard your rear tow hook. Forget you ever saw it...

Default Tow hooks are reverse threaded

Just remember the tow hooks have reverse threads on them. So when you screw them into the sockets you have to go "Righty loosey" "Lefty tighty" and not the other way around.

I thought I had the wrong tow hook since it wouldn't screw in to the socket so I threw it away...oops.

My car had no screws holding the rear white backup lights. How does quality control miss 6 screws. The lights were rattling around when I got home.

Haha, yea get used to it... If quality control is toward the top of your requirement list, I'm sorry to inform you that you got the wrong brand, however if aesthetics are important then you made the right choice!
On my car the structural panels behind the dash were not fully/correctly bonded, five weeks at the dealer was the result, and evidence of the same issue is starting to appear from the c pillar area...

Looks and sounds good from the outside though

SSM70338 (A Jaguar Special Service Message) confirmes what we thought about the rear tow eye - it should have been removed from the vehicle and discarded during the PDI checks.

It is for securing the vehicle during transport only, and should never be used to actually tow or move the vehicle as it can damage the chassis.

The same is true for the F-Type, X351 XJ, old XF and the last of the XKs.

As far as the OP's and other QA problems I take it as reassurance that a wise choice is to purchase a pre-owned car from a private party enthusiast that has worked out most of the issues.

It is disheartening that a $100k+ car (r) has a laundry list of issues though and a $35k Mustang has very few.

No help to the OP, but I, like many others, have had no problems through my first 9 months of ownership. I am very satisfied with the performance, quality, and comfort. If only it had a HUD....
