on the picture in the configurator i noticed there is a extra button on the steering wheel which is a bit to blurry to make out properly, either way this is not on my current R and only seems to change if its the svr spec?

Almost looks like a speech/voice activation symbol?

Confused!
It's not present on the SVR (not on mine anyway, just has a black plastic solid panel), but I think it's the voice command control.

I notice it's right-hand drive, so could be a UK/etc option that we don't get.

Not yet looked at the USA configurator, i'll have a look later.

But correct me if im wrong but i thought the f-type does not have any form of voice command features?

Also regardless of the options you chose on a f-type R you can not get this button to appear so i doubt it its a market/region thing.

Maybe a mistake?

The Jag "JustDrive" app offers navigation/entertainment/communication voice command, but that is all handled through the touchscreen. Would be nice to have a button on the steering wheel to activate "talk".

Yeah i agree it would be nice, although i barely use voice command features in the cars i have driven i was quite surprised when the Jag didn't have this feature as standard. My previous Renault had it!

I'll have to look at the "just drive" app. Not seen it yet, Cheers.

Here's an interesting one: I know that the engine cover has been removed for the SVR, as with the P7...and I have seen an interview somewhere where some Jag person said they didn't advise putting the cover on and SVR due to the heat (does that extra 25hp really make that much difference?). Anyway, the official Jag accessories catalog actually states that the CF cover is "not applicable to SVR". Huh? As in it won't fit? Bizarre.

It'll most likely fit, but it will hold too much heat. Many of us are removing the covers from the other models as well:https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-cover-168352/

If the ship the SVR without the cover, then it may lack the attachment points that hold the cover on.

Oh that's an interesting thought! Can anyone familiar with the F type engine bay confirm if the SVR has the attachment points from photos? That'd suck. My cars tend to wind up on display a lot, and I'd been counting on being able to fit the CF cover (I'd remove it at the track and for daily driving, I'm aware of the heat issues).

Another thought: it seems the underside of the bonnet has some extra rubber/plastic lining around the vents and so on on the SVR. I wonder if that makes it too tight a fit?

Perhaps so, but they are just 4 identical pegs with a ball on top and threads on the bottom that screw into housings and brackets that are common to all the models. A picture of the SVR engine bay should clear it up. Anyone?

The attachment points are there but it does not come with a lid. If there was a picture of the underside of the bonnet you'd see a protector plastic plate in black that covers the hoses and wires between the engine pictured here and the radiator. Not a large cover and it's attached to the bonnet, but it might interfere with an added cover over the engine.

I enquired on another forum about that button, and was advised that the exact same button on the XE Jag is used for voice control, AKA Jaguar Voice.

Also here is a shot showing the rears of a new SVR and a New R. Some decent differences.

Has anyone looked into winter tires for the SVR? I'm having considering it as a new car in the 2 years but I am not sure if I can do it without any ability to put winter tires on those huge rims.
