Default Opinions on this color please

I was trolling Craigslist as I often do to see what's in the local area. I'm not in the market for an XK or an R and I prefer the coupe to vert (personal choices fellas, don't judge:-)

What struck me was the color. I like it and it's different. XK's aren't common up in the twin cities as far as I know. Usually the ones for sale are convertibles. I've never seen a white one in person or posted for sale so it struck me.

I was curious to what others thought of the white. I read the earlier thread regarding the green. Would you own a white one? Here's a look (I don't know the owner):

My wife likes white cars (all of hers have been white), so I could see her in it.
I've never been a fan of white, but that XKR looks good. I especially like the way the 'bright' side gills blend well with the car (I usually don't like the side gills in anything but body color).

Thanks Powerhouse. To be clear, I'm not looking to buy this. I'm happy with what I have and the warden will NOT let me make room for more vehicles.

I could see my wife in it too. She doesn't like white cars but she loved this one. She agreed with you that she could see herself in it. I asked her if she would like me to look into it. Her response was clear

KJ07XK's spouse and mine have the same taste as to auto colors. I myself had a white 928 about 30+ years ago. None since, but that XKR vert looks nice in white.

Good timing. I saw a 2012 coupe in a white shade at the airport a few days ago. I liked it. The white doesn't reflect the complex curves of the car as much as darker colors so for me it's a little detracting. It's more subtle. Mine is black and looks just as elegant but a little more sinister. The white is all class.

If I were going for different a deep blue, charcoal or that heavy metallic "emerald green" would be my choice. I wouldn't cry if I had a white one.

And yeah, I'm a coupe guy.

I have a pearlescent white vert with caramel interior and roof. Admittedly a little different than a pure white.... stunning for sure.
Interestingly, the last XKR I had was a BRG coupe, beautiful and perfectly fit the British air of these cars, IMHO.

If anyone cares, the white car listed above, does NOT have the Adaptive Cruise Control-no double rolling switch on right side of steering wheel.

We just don't fit the color mold . If you take top 3 colors there isn't one we would buy or own. Just not a fan. We like something that jumps out and not something that blends in. Just personal preference. As for coupe vs convertible I like the coupe styling as the lines seem to flow better but we wanted the convertible because it was for open air cruising and fun drives .

Any XK satisfies this requirement IMO

Yep, this is where my wife and I diverge. She wants to 'blend in' and not stick out, so she drives only white cars, wears only muted color clothing. Its a cultural thing for her. She didn't grow up in this country. Everyone 'blended in', sticking out was a bad thing (amongst her friends, there is always a big discussion whenever someone from their homeland is seen wearing 'wild' clothes (so its best she didn't know me in my younger years!), and all her friends only drive grey or white cars).

I've only owned red cars. All my friends had 'verts sometime during their younger years, while this is my first (guess I'm reliving my youth). I agree that the coupe is a sexy beast, but I'm loving that 'open air' cruising now (and the wife loves riding in it, with her special 'not so muted' jacket and sunglasses!).

White is a good dolor in summer, but it's not very popular.
Does not turn the head...

Here are some pictures (from my site) with a white Jaguar XKR.

I'm a fan of your red Jagtoes and KJ07XK's red also. I had the Super V8 in Radiance red. That definitely turned heads. I love Richzak's as well

I have no regrets. I love my black beauty. I initially had my eye on a red one in Ohio but she was overpriced and the dealer wouldn't budge. # months later, the dealer dropped it to my offer price and it was scooped up.

Spilled milk at this point.

White is nice for sedans, especially up here where the roads get salty. Just hides the dirt. Flyc2c's comment resonates a bit too. That one reason I was going to make a drive up to see it in person.

Nosferatu, thanks for the coupe pics. The vert is a bit more stylish to me in white than the coupe (based on pics only), unless of course you're going to light it up like Powerhouse.

As we all realize color is a matter of personal preference. I do wonder how the top colors get selected . Is it by the manufacture or is it by the customers. Kind of like the chicken vs the egg and what comes first. Last year my kid had a hard time finding a new Audi A4. We finally got one in Fl. and had it shipped. None of the dealers in our area could get the color as they seemed to be rare.

That A4 must be a rocket, I see it's going vertical!
Years ago I worked with a fellow who had an S4 in that color. Very well put together, firm ride, but no rattles. Unfortunately the guy drove like an old lady. I remember passing him on the tollway one day (we were headed to the same event), and he was just poking along in the slow lane.
