Default Help with Water pump pipe part number

Hoping you guys and Gals can help me with this one.
I am in the middle of changing my water pump on my 2012 5.0 base XJ

What I need is the part number for the small 6mm fitting that fits into the front of the water pump and also the small 4 inch long 8mm pipe that goes to the Y fitting at the top see picture.

Thanks in advance.

Default SOLVED - Parts to use for new coolant flow from water pump

New water pump coolant flow on NA AJ133

I believe you cannot buy that part anymore as Jaguar have changed the way water flows from the pump see post #67 on this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/can-we-talk-about-5-0l-water-pump-120768/page4/ Post#67 From my investigation Jaguar have made the change to help with high failure rate of pumps but I have not found any document that explicitly says that but only the new parts are commonly available.

This is a schematic showing new vs. old parts and special thanks to H20boy and Brett, Parts Manager from https://www.jaguarlandroverrenoparts.com/ that helped me piece all this together.

The part you asked about was integral with AJ812141 which is superseded to AJ813565 and the water pump feed is now integral with C2Z28467 that connects the thermostat and outlet tube. I just went through replacing the hose connecting the thermostat and outlet tube and had to make this change. Well if it helps reduce water pump failure I'm good with it

hafren,
quick question about Part number AJ813565. (see image)
I see that it still has the hose barb connection what does this connect to or is it blanked off. as this used to go down to the water pump bleed.

Its blanked off - a simple tooling change for Jaguars supplier enabling the part to continue to be used with the new flow path.

BTW when I did mine I took the Y piece out of the new pipe and put it in the old installed pipe to make the job simpler.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. The picture posted by Paulc732 shows the old layout of hoses connected to the water pump. Jaguar have superseded these hoses by 2 new hoses numbered AJ813565 and C2Z28467 which allow for new water flow through the pump which is believed to alleviate the high failure rate of water pumps. I understand part # AJ812141 (this contains the hose marked 8W939F814AD) is no longer available.

Hey I am updating my 2011 Jaguar XJ coolant pipe and realized that you had NO NEED for the new part with the Y connector (part #AJ813565) --- are you telling me that once you bought the bottom pipe that newly goes into the water pump, that you just could use the OLD fitted small hose, by removing the Y head connector piece and run it STRAIGHT THRU the rubber hose that is left behind? I am asking because I want to avoid buying the more expensive yet very small connector pipe. Basically, can I avoid buying (grey & black) pipe in PHOTO #1 by altering (black)pipe in PHOTO #2 (by removing the connector piece)??

Well yes & no . Yes you need the new part for the Y connector which has one port blanked off. However if you can find a way to connect the old part without its Y connector that will also work .

[QUOTE=theoretically it should work, correct?[/QUOTE]
Theoretically yes but you better be sure you can blank off the unused port. Read the threads on here about coolant loss, head gasket failures, engine seizure all for the cost of that part .

And they're not a particularly expensive or hard-to-get parts, and it would be new!

<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->I think you should try a new one. I don't think that blanking off the unused port is a good option in practice. The option for leakage is high according to my view. If you are confident with this, you can do an integrity check on the pipe to ensure it's working before actually fitting it. But the more safer and long-lasting method is buying a new one.

Not sure what your link is about? Maybe a spam posting?
Steel pipelines in the ground have nothing to do with rubber coolant pipes on a Jaguar?

But yes just buy a new one. With all the coolant pipe failures we see it's just false economy to try and salvage that "Y" connector.
