Default The cat needs some stripes!!

I've loved AC Cobras since I first saw one. Especially in stripes.

I really think the (my) ftype would look good in racing stripes..

I can only find the one image below and it looks photo shopped..

Thinking about white/off white or silver. Looks good on an orange Cobra!

Anyone have theirs striped? Any good pics out there I'm missing?

Insanity? Sacrilege?

Thanks!

It's always a matter of personal raste so it's not crazy. I'm partial to the Project 7 style more than the go-fast style. If I was to go front to back I'd do it offset like days of olde. Of course the Etype looked pretty good with the centered stripes.

I love the white with racing green stripes. But orange is a really difficult color to stripe. I've seen white, black, silver, and grey. I would go for a gunmetal grey. My Elise is orange.

I wonder what white or silver on BRG might look like.

I know this thread is a little old, but I just took this stray cat in today and feel it needs something...searched the web for ideas but thought I would put it out to the tasteful people on The Forum for your thoughts. It's just a base '14 but the black top, interior and black wheels seem to be calling out for more....what do you think? (Pics would be helpful)

Base or not - it's a great looking car. Stripes in all the directions shown above look pretty neat though I would go OTT and add an SVR spoiler, one day 🏎️

Painting your calipers to match body color would give it some punch. I'd also black out the chrome side vents.

If if this were my car and sticking with oem products.

Black out the side vents, lipstick, and window surrounds so that all of the trim matches. This is probably the #1 design flaw that bugs me if you don’t have the black pack. This is on my to-do list for my car if I don’t upgrade to an 18.

I’m probably the only person that doesn’t like all black wheels. I just feel you lose all detail on the wheel. I would swap them for the diamond cut gyrodynes and use monochrome center caps (like Zee has).

Paint the calipers to either body color or black.

I saw one with a stripe in Tampa this week. It’s an interesting look..not for me on this car.

Chrime bonnet vents will jazz it up.

IF I had a white F-Type I don't think I'd hesitate putting those Green Racing stripes on it. I'm not a big fan of stickers - unless one is racing (and not on the streets) - but I do love the way that car looks.

On Firesand? I suspect that that's a bit more of a challenge. Silver or something in the grey family might work.

Mike,
If Jay has any decals left over, you might even get a premium for selling it as a Lobster Run Edition .

My 2c: the side and hood vents need to both be matching chrome or gloss black. Given the gloss black wheels, that is the way I would go.

The BRG on my car is dark enough that the black hood vents and chrome side vents work.

Stripes...I think they detract from the form/grace of the car, but if it were my choice to have them, I'd go for something like these:

Do a Google search for Team Sky F-Type to give you some ideas too.

I agree. Adding stripes - of any kind - clearly makes a statement which might actually detract from the stunning lines of our F-Types just the way they are. It surely will change things in a dramatic, and not necessarily better, way. Just have to consider all the possibilities and what you are after.

To each his/her own.
