the brake/park light bulbs that contain dual/twin filaments so one can be actioned separate from the other, what happens in switching to LEDs. ?
do you need a complex LED that behaves in a different manner or what occurs?

 

I'm thinking you'd need dual LEDs just like you have dual filaments.

Brake filament is activated by the brake switch on the pedal, which sends power through the correct filament and to ground/earth, whereas the tail/park filament is activated by the light switch on the dash.

That's why some sockets have 2 wires and some have only 1; according to the number of filaments they're intended for. The ground/earth is through the metal outer socket itself where it attaches to the car. Only on plastic sockets or sockets mounted in non-conductive material is there a ground/earth wire.

You would certainly need an LED with 2 connections on the base. What electrical sorcery happens inside the unit is PFM.

I expected that would be the case but don't see many replacement billed as dual functioning in that regard, but haven't look exhaustibly yet.

Note the two contacts on the bottom as opposed to fog, indicator, and reversing lights which have only one contact.
AFAIK there's a few different numbers so you need to get the right ones.
Really really bright! (but there are lower power ones available)
You can similar ones for the reversing lights and fog lights, the reversing lights are a really useful upgrade.

AFAIK the two contacts either operate through a dimming circuit (resistor) or full power.

 

I put the brightest LED replacements I could find in my Reverse Lights (72 elements! yes they fit into the fixtures)

because I Really need to see what I'm backing into around that corner!

Stop lights though, I didn't put in such bright LEDs, only 15 elements,

because sometimes I find myself behind someone at a traffic stop light who's done the BRIGHTEST POSSIBLE, and not only is it uncomfortable but some of those lights are positively Blinding!

I'm all 'for' improved lighting but some people go too far and have no consideration for other drivers. Needlessly bright lights and/or improper use of driving/fog lights is one of my favorite rants.

What's the most common reason for the bonnet of the car to 'hang' off centre. I think I have had it off and on again three times in the last year, every thing, no matter the efforts and adjustments, it hangs funny, closing but not snug on the passenger side of the car. near the lights it is lifted up on this side and it sits away from the edge by the battery. on the drivers side of the car it sits flush both front and back.
