I have a chance to pick up a brand new (never used) set of OEM floor mats for my 98 XK8.
... Except that they're black.

Anyone use black mats with their tan / cashmere interior?

Your thoughts?

 

I bought new cashmere mats last year and my grandson managed to get black grease all over them the first time out.

I wish I had black ones for every day use and save the cashmere for the car shows.

Live and learn, or not.

 

Black mats show the least amount of dirt/stains and black essentially works with any interior color. If you can grab these black mats for a deal, then do so. You can certainly swap them out for other colors if you change your mind down the road....

 

i was able to get the same set. they look very nice with my ivory interior. you can get the anchors from jagbits if you need them

 

I have black mats (aftermarket) with a cashmere interior. I think it looks great, but I've got a sort of black/tan mixed color scheme going in the interior.

Not great lighting in the garage, but here is a pic of the passenger side. Interior is originally SDZ code.

 

The car is Quartz Metallic with Oatmeal leather and Black top. You can just see the leather patch with my wife's monogram at the bottom of the second shot if you enlarge it...

The mats were the only thing on the car that looked worn, and we chose black for the reasons others cited above, as well as a more desirable contrast that coordinates with the exterior. We're happy with the choice.
