Default Willian Lyons signature in glove box

My car has his name in metallic letters there. Is it a hint of something, equipment package or something? Inner leather? Not all cars seems to have this, or?

It would be very interesting if possible to photograph that plaque.

Interesting, looks like an emblem and not an autograph. So prior owner or signature edition?

I do not know. I somehow think that it is original, or then the first owner of the car has put it there. He/she was in Milano, Italy, the fashion capitol of Italy. I would like to know who was the first owner

Sir William Lyons was MR JAGUAR himself.

Take a look at these links:

Yes we know, and it is nice that his name is there - but why in this XK?

It means it belonged to someone who really loved Jaguar, understood its pedigree and dream....William Lyon's dream.

I dont think you can handle the truth.
The truth is; to celebrate Jaguar's independence from Ford, on William Lyon's birthday they decided to make one very special car. A token to the realization of Lyon's dream. It was built after lunch hour, and there was a strict limit of one pint of ale per person at the toast.

If its easier for you you can continue believing this is some decal bought from ebay as they do sell them.

Unhappy

Well, that's interesting... Now to remove without damaging the leather or not to remove? I would have installed it on the plastic dash plate, not the leather glove box door.

Some peoples children...

That is not the same. Hm, there is no chance it could be "factory installed"?

No I certainly will not remove it, looks good there! But I am starting to think it might be later installed...this thing has those "chrome"-parts here and there too. Pervert as I am, I like most of them, like these: door handles, mirror covers, lamp edges, fog light areas...not so sure about back lights though.

All clues point to someone who has long been in love with jaguars owing this car before you.
The chrome trim is a dead giveaway.

Paragon Designs out of UK still sells these things.
The William Lyon casting is an enigma, not cheap to make for very small market.

That way if you brake suddenly or are in a crash, the passenger would have the emblem embossed in their forehead.
