i found this under my driver's seat. What is used for?

Looks like a lock picking tool to me. Slide it between the glass and the outside weather seal, insert to catch part of the lock mechanism and lift up. tada, door is unlocked. These sorts of tools have been around for a long time. The question that I would be asking is why is it in your car.

 

is there some shape at the end of the tool or does it just come to a point? and is there some printing on the blade?

 

The only answer that comes to mind is one day i was coming out of Olive Garden and notice a guy walking behind my car and scurried off to a truck. I thought he was checking out the car but my mental alarm said that something wasn't right about. The guy had on a khakis, polo shirt and suit coat. He jumped into a truck that a business logo on the door. also, there was a women in a beat up brown car looking at him. Other wise the car is always in a garage at home or work.

 

There is a small hole and notch at the tip of it. There is no branding or print on it.

 

I wonder if it is a tool used for upholstery work, like restitching.

 

That's exactly what it looks like to me too.

To have it handy the next time the owner locks himself outside the car? No, wait that wouldn't work.

 

It's a wire feeder tool. Did you have your windshield replaced recently?
