Default Side rubber moldings

The “chrome” plastic has worn away. Should I just remove all of them on both sides of the car or can you still get replacements?

jordanmc,

I might be wrong but they don't look like the original Jaguar option ones. If they are the genuine ones they haven't been available for years, probably because the demand was so low and they were fitted to hardly any cars. I suspect that if you like them and want to retain them, you could find some similar replacement "chrome" plastic strips to replace the worn bits. Alternatively, you can get very good results these days buying "chrome" tape and fitting to the worn strips.

yhe jaguar ones are on my car, I retape the chrome every couple of years as you cant get any tape that's as good as the original and the adhesive dries out and the ends tend to look tatty, but it does work as a temporary fix

Canada had different trim than the USA or RoW. Suggest you check the guide on Jaguar Clubs of North America |

Hi George,

Are you able to share a link or point us to the area on the JCNA site that details the differences in Canadian spec cars?

Tks

Paul

You may read here--page 22 http://www.jcna.com/sites/default/fi...icity_2017.pdf but that is actually a reference to Jaguar publication JAG 8094 of which I have included the two pages in question--not sure but the protectors look a lot like the ones in question--note Canada did not have the narrow moulding.

I will try to post a scan,

Default They are original

they are definitely original on mine. I have decided to “attempt “ to remove them this weekend. They are in rough shape.

Default Remove the side moldings

I just had my car repainted and upon recommendation of the body shop, had those worn, faded and shitty looking moldings removed. The car looks better and sleeker without them.
