Default Project 7 Grill Mod

Has anybody removed the horizontal bar on the front grill as in the Project 7? Probably need to replace the grill as well to make it appear as all one piece. Looks way better without the bar in my opinion.

There are sensors in that bar that need to be there but the project 7 looks like they have the bar behind the grill with sensors in tact. You can see it pretty clearly on the nose shot on the ad posted in the previous post on a project 7 for sale.

Yes, it was already done by another already. Search this and the other forums for that example.

The Project 7 did not offer front sensors. Those of us that are adapting the P7 grille have mounted the sensors to the P7 grille.

Thank you. This did not show up in my search but is exactly what I was looking for.

When are you doing your install? Still waiting to try to paint or wrap it chrome?

Unfortunately they do not work correctly once the center bar is removed. Lots of false positives!

I'm assuming the front sensors are for the parking sensors only correct? If disconnected does it affect any other sensors or electronics?
If so, I can live without those front parking sensors as they do not sound off when I need them the most which when the chin plate under the bumper is coming up on a low curb or parking spot marker. I learned along time ago with my XJS to just back in when possible or leave a good bit of room in front.

There really is no need to re-hash all of this again in yet another thread. All the details about the front sensors and how to have them function is all included on the original thread here...Just take this discussion over to that thread and read what has already been posted and add post for any new questions.

+1. No sense in reinventing the wheel.
