Hi guys, I started my love for Jaguar with a 2010 XFR. I finally got it just as I wanted it both with looks and performance. It ran high 11s on street tires and ran like a dream. Really a perfect combination of luxury and performance. Long story short I was rear ended by a distracted driver 2 weeks ago and the car was written off.
The good news is I was lucky enough to find a pristine 2012 Jaguar XJ Supercharged with only 25k miles. The plan is to work with Eurocharged to get this one as fast if not faster than the XFR was. I would love to share my adventure with the car with you guys in this thread.
Congratulations on the supercharged. Commiserations on the XF. I recently acquired a 2012 supercharged XJL with average miles and I love it. Even with so many miles I can't really tell it. Steering is tight, runs perfect, body is beautiful, and the interior is pretty close to perfect as well. I love the leather everywhere. Have you got a windshield sunshade yet. Carid has a nice one that fits perfect for when you have to leave it parked outside at work.
Welcome to the XJ world. Sorry to hear about the XF, especially with all the work put into it. Were you able to salvage any of the go-fast parts to hopefully move over to the XJ?
I kinda like that color blue, i definitley never saw it on a Jag XJ. It reminds me of the XFR-S blue. Is that a regular available color, a special order of some kind, or a wrap?
Ntimd8, welcome to the XJ world. Not sure how high in power you are looking to go, but one of the members here got his up to 620 hp through nothing more than a new pulley and having the ECU tuned via a performance shop. Sounds like you have a shop that will play with the jaguar 5.0L engine. So, you should be good.
Enjoy the car. Not sure on the blue myself, but, since it is a wrap, if you feel that the blue is not what you want, a little bit of time and you are back to black.
Thanks Thermo. Ya Eurocharged has done me well in the past and Jerry from Eurocharged is an amazing tuner. He used to or still does tune the Twin Turbo Lamborghinis from underground racing.
Ya the colour is not for everyone. It is very striking in person and I can’t go anywhere without people giving me thumbs up or talking to me saying how nice it is. It definitely attracts attention.
What kind of power numbers were you getting with the XFR? Are you planning on doing similar mods to the XJ? since its basically the same motor (i think).
I havent seen too many people doing power mods to the XJ, beyond intake and exhaust, so I am very interested in seeing what your approach is. I want to boost power a bit, but purchasing the car drained enough of my funds for now.

The XFR was at about 600hp. I plan to follow the same route since yes as you said it’s the exact same drivetrain.
So the first thing I tackled was to replace the stock intake piping with a TCP intake and put some K&N filters in the stock air box.
I am very interested in your experience with the K & Ns; they have a reputation over here for causing running faults and even fuelling component failures.
Good luck with the project; I am playing with an X358 XJR and hope to take it to a local 1 kilometre test track in the new year to establish exact results.
Welcome to the XJ side of things, it's not as fast pace as the XF world. I for one will be following this thread closely so the more updates the better.
You plan on getting any before and after numbers at the dyno and track?
