Hello,
so I have a small leak from my xj6 III engine compartment.
it is on the front left side. I can see it is between the windshield fluid tank and the radiator coolant expansion tank. See the moist down there ?
I am sure it is not wiper fluid, also does not look like coolant fluid. It looks and smells like brake fluid.
Anyway the brake fluid level is fine. Should I be worried of any air going into the brake system ?
The car brakes and stop very well so far.
If it looks and smells like brake fluid... then it's brake fluid. There is a union fitting right there right under the the washer fluid reservoir. I would remove the washer Reservoir and make sure those fittings are tight. If they are then the lines maybe rusted through. Fluid could also be leaking out the back of the master cylinder or wheel line and be running along the seam on the frame rail. If it were my car I wouldn't drive it until this was fixed. Loosing one side or both of the front brakes can be disasterous in any car.

just remove the cap of the washer bottle and grab the mouth of the bottle and pull it up hard. The bracket does not have to be loosened or removed.
in that specific area there is a power steering hose, so check the color of your power steering fluid to see if it is red or clear, it might be a power steering fluid leak at the hose.
