How many of you utilize the under-hood toolkit space. I don't have the original toolkit, which is actually pretty sparse anyway, (pliers, screwdriver, couple of open-ended wrenches and some bulbs), and any serious toolkit is best stored in the trunk, but I do keep a few "essentials" in mine and find it handy at times to be able to access a small flashlight, or tire pressure gauge, or small screwdriver easily from under the hood.
The original tool kits can get pretty pricey, and I guess they are desirable if you want your vehicle to have that 100% original look.
That is cool Eric, I think I need to follow your example and make a more professional foam/cutout example like yours.
I learned one dark night on the side of the road with a flat tire how valuable a flashlight would have been, I make sure i always carry one in the car now!
Yeah I'd have to go Eric's route otherwise any noise from tools moving around would perturb me, as I'm anti unnecessary noise lol. I'm currently tracking down all my current noises, seems once I silence one, I can now hear another lol.
A 10mm and 8 mm will dismantle most any bolt in the engine bay. The 13mm is probably the next popular and the 15mm will take off your oil plug. This is basic maintenance btw, just to get you going to a shop.

I have the OEM tool kit and it is useful if you get stuck somewhere. The screwdriver flat head will fit into the slots on the battery clamp bolts and allow you to unscrew it and the spanners allow you to remove the battery. I do of course carry a more comprehensive selection of tools, equipment and spares but I keep them underneath the boot floor in the spare wheel well.
With one of these tools you can get another car to get to where you are going. (maybe to jail?)
Keeps the 'road-agents' away if you are 'broke-down' on the side of the road.
