Pretty car. And speaking for us similarly **** owners, we don't think your **** at all wanting to make the top look better.
Sorry but I don't have any suggestions.
My son gave me some 303 cleaner and I realized it is not for the fabric roofs. So I used watered down bathroom hand soap in a bucket, and lathered up the roof with a large soft paint brush. Then rinsed...

You might want to check to see if Griot's Garage has a product for convertible tops. I unfortunately don't remember what I used on my Alfa Spider top.........too many years ago.
There is a product called Raggtop on Amazon. I saw it recommended somewhere and bought the kit, but I have not used it, yet. Just a suggestion for research.
I have found the three-bottle product RENOVO to be excellent, but only for fabric tops; the Jag is mohair, I believe. Do not use on vinyl soft tops.
The first bottle is a special, gentle, detergent cleaner, and it comes with a sponge that produces just the right foam for this detergent to deep-clean.
The second bottle is a recolourant and reconditioner; available in black, dark blue, dark red, dark brown, and the dark green is perfect for the Jag roof on my car.
The third bottle is a reproofer, because the detergent removes any proofer that was left.
The instructions are specific, but not difficult; in my case, apart from having to wait for a day when there was no rain, nor any sunshine, because I have to work outside.
I have used this AutoGlym stuff for years with excellent results .
In the UK it’s a lot cheaper to get on EBay.
Depending on environment and usage you will only need to use, the cleaner 1-2 times a year and then the protector every year or so.
Roof beads very nicely after treatment
easy to use and washes off overspray with a hose.
I usually wash the roof then apply the protector and before roof dries wash the car very soon afterwards
That's very interesting that Jaunty has said the tops are made from mohair. There is nothing synthetic about them, so use a soft soap that could be used on wool or your wife's delicates. The dyes should have the same restrictions.
