Default VelocityAP Jaguar AJ126 and AJ133 Supercharger Rebuild & Porting

We recently published a blog post covering our supercharger rebuild and porting services offered in partnership with Jokerz Performance. We know a number of customers here have already taken advantage of this, and the feedback has been excellent.

This service is available for both earlier vacuum bypass and later electronic supercharger variants across Jaguar and Land Rover applications using the Eaton blower, including both the AJ126 and AJ133 platforms.

Behind the scenes, we have been focused on improving process efficiency and reducing turnaround times. We are now completing these services in a matter of weeks rather than months for incoming orders.

If you have been considering this upgrade, now is a great time to move forward. Feel free to reach out and we would be happy to walk you through the process and get you set up.

Thanks Scott. Looking forward to doing this next month in concert with my cooling system rebuild.

Also some nice videos by the always helpful @HermanWiegman about the process, thanks Herman at @Onca Engineering! We should all subscribe to his YT channel.

@JagCode3
John, Thanks for the shout out. Here are some of my impressions from driving my ported S/C for the past 5 months.

First off, after completion of the swap, I noticed an increase in super charger whine. This probably came from both the new coupler, as part of the rebuild service, and the porting of the intake portion.
Either way, I don't find the sound intrusive, and it adds a bit of character to my 2017 V6 MT.
The next thing I discovered while driving the car was the absence of a return-to-idle vacillation which plagued my car during warmer weather.
I am not sure if the improved idle return was due to the porting, or perhaps my fine adjustment of the bypass valve stroke limit, but it was a welcome addition.
Next, after a few hundred miles of break-in, I found that the engine pulls hard and clean to the 7000 RPM redline (from stage 1 tune).
Previous to the swap, I experienced a bit of power drop-off before the engine reached the RPM limiter. This was obvious to me when autoX'ing in first gear on a tight course.
This is not a region of the engine that I often use, but it is nice to know there is consistent torque available to me if I need it.

I can recommend this upgrade to the JLR community, especially if you are a performance minded driver and you have a supercharger in need of a rebuild.
The porting option will give you access to a larger torque envelope, especially in the high RPM range.
This optimization of the AJ equipment, makes the engine family more capable and powerful.

Drive well,
Herman Wiegman

Thanks for the video and positive feedback. We have seen a significant increase in demand for this service, especially as these cars continue to age. What is great (check out the XE forums as well) is how much performance benefit this brings to the table. One customer just indicated he is running 558HP in his V6 XE with this solution and tune by VAP. That is not even E85 and better than stock V8 performance.

We recently sent down a number of core units to Jokerz performance, to help with turnaround time, so we can get these to customers even quicker than ever if selecting the core option.

Default Performance Inprovement?

How much power would a ported 1900 pick up over your Stage 3 set-up? We talking 700? 750?

We are currently looking for a customer who has access to our data logging tools, a dyno, and the availability to collaborate with our technical team. The goal is to further refine the current calibration and generate validated output results that we can confidently share.

We have already completed this process with the 1320 blower, and those results are available on the product page.

At this time, we are working with several customers on the 1900 series, but none have been able to spend the time with us needed to fully refine the calibration before we can accurately publish expected horsepower figures.

Any fuel system upgrades needed with the ported 1900 setup on the V8? Is there adequate headroom in the V8 fuel pumps and injectors to match the added airflow?

Most likely no, it is possible with the age of the car / fuel pumps the VMP fuel pump booster might help with some lower fuel pressures, but it is not required unless we are logging specific issues with the install.
