Turn base 3.0 v6 into a beast
My father gave me a 2007 base s type v6 jagaur as a grad gift. I always wanted to work on a car enhance its performance give it things like a super or turbo charger. Hoping anyone knows what i can and cant add to this veichle to make it feel like a beast.
The 3.0 S-Type is a wonderful car as is.
Don't destroy the gift you received.
Leave it as is.
I investigated once, if it would be a biggy to turn a 4,2L not-supercharged V8 S-Type into a Supercharged, i found out that it is that difficult (expensive) that it makes more sense to just but a 4.2L supercharged.
If you want a beast/monster, just turn on the TV: The monster is dominating the news...

I agree with the others. There are not many things you can do without it costing big bucks. It would be cheaper to get a V8 version, but why bother; the V6 is probably more robust and has more than enough power for road driving. You could put a sporty exhaust and a K&N filter element on it, but it won’t give you loads of extra power. Remapping is, I am told, not so easy either as it requires a special interface. So if you want to put a supercharger on it, you would probably need to install a whole new customisable engine management system (which would most likely confuse many of the other electrical systems on the car).
Anything is possible with enough money, but you’d need deep pockets.
So you may have to stick with minor upgrades instead.

It will be very expensive to get more power out of a motor such as this. You may be able to put a small amount of boost into with a supercharger. You will need to be able to map the ignition and injection for the boost ... it would rapidly become very expensive.
With pre-1990s cars power adders and bigger motors are easy. If you can get them to fit and adapt them .... it''ll work. the trouble is with modern cars, they already output very high power ratings for the size, and the electronic controls are often almost insurmountable with the time and effort involved to trying to change/update.
Eg: if I was to find a V8 and try and put in the car here ... how would I adapt it to the transmission, all the body computers would not know how to talk to it... its not like an early injected motor where you could move the wiring loom and computer with the motor to a different car.
