So I was trying to apply 12VDC to move the seat to expose the two bolts in the front. I am pretty certain I got the right connector. But I think I messed up male vs female part. I applied 12VDC to the circled part and the seat did not move. Should I be using the other side of the connector? The seat is so low that I cant see which wires go to the motor and which to the controller. Hope I didn't fry the controller. Judging by the the other posts I am doing it correctly, but the seat does not move. And I know that the motor is good. That was supposed to be 1997 in the subject, lol. Thank you.
OK, I answered my own question. Obviously it is the other side of the connector. That is why I never gamble even with 50-50 I always manage to get it wrong. Hopefully the seat control module is OK, if not off to eBay.
I just ran into this problem yesterday with a 2003 XKR Coupe.
The Driver's seat was fully forward so I removed the DSCM with a 1/4 drive ratchet and 10mm socket to swap the PSCM.
The Passenger seat operated normally so I knew the Seat Control Module on that side was good.
I'm 71 years old but flexible enough the squeeze in front of the seat and remove the Seat Modules.
The Driver's seat module got water damaged somehow. The customer said he spilled a lot of water on the seat and it went crazy.
The water damaged module now needs repair so I need to send it somewhere.
At least his driver's seat adjusts so he can drive the car while the passenger seat is 'stuck' in a good position.
Need to remove the switch assy now, another adventure. Ok so everything is taken apart. The design is mind boggling, need to take half a car apart to get to it. Where is the security tab I need to depress, towards the front of the seat? Anybody has a picture ? Manual gives so little information it is crazy.
