Nice one 06X........the 2.2 d sport will have loads of torque as per the Mondeo ST tdci ( probably same engine ) that I had.
I got my ECU remapped from 150bhp to 195bhp ....only cost £400

Thinkin about it???

Don't tempt me fella . . .The Merc was a bit of a beast (2.7 diesel auto, if punished it could squeak the tires in the dry in 2nd gear )
This is the first front wheel drive car I've had for a while . . . So we'll see what happens

Just outa curiosity whats the stock bhp on the X......gotta be about 150 too I'd guess?
The ST I had could overcome the traction control if " booted " in 1st 2nd and 3rd
That thing with the extra bhp / torque would take on most 2.5 and 3.0 petrols and not be put to shame.

I think it is just over 150, can't find the figures in the handbook at the mo [&:]

But I know from a few little experiments today, 40-ish MPH in 6th takes you very rapidly to over the legal limit . . . . Not that I'm condoning that sort of stuff

Just checked.....155bhp
Get it remapped and you could be lookin at 200

I was in a BMW 335 twin turbo diesel a few months back that went from 80 ish in 6th to 140 quite quickly too.....ended up at 161
That was some car

I think, 155 and the wheel tyre combo its got at the moment, is about the extreme of it's limits . . Unless of course thats the weather making the road slithery

It's got to be said tho' I do miss my rear wheel drive, was brought up with a Chevette HS and Rover 3500 SD1's . . . But the X is fine for now

Just to update this a bit, over the weekend I did nearly 300 miles (all at legal speeds officer) and am still waiting for the fuel gauge to drop below the 1/2 way mark, needless to say, I'm a happy chap at the moment

Nice one 06...the diesel rocks doesn't it?
When I had my 2.5V6 I was lucky to get that out of a full tank and I'd put money on it that it wasn't any faster either in 0-60 or top speed times either[&:]
I had 720 miles on a full tank outta my A6 recently and that was mostly at 80mph or thereabouts.

I've got to be honest, I was tempted by the Audi . . . but the bloke next door has got one on a P plate,(A4) so didn't want to seem too flash by getting a newer one

I'm starting to think there is a problem with the fuel gauge tho' on that half tank, just been out for a little bimble, up to Edinburgh A1, across to Glasgow M8, back down to Carlisle and back home! Still not flashing at me

I can see this coming back to bite me on the *** when I run out eventually

Oh and touched on 135 on the way, but lets hush about that

edited for p!ss poor spelling

Shoulda just been flash mate....lol
The Audi's are really nice too
I'ms ure the fuel gauge is fine, I'd say you could expect when driven reasonably carefully you could expect at LEAST 500 miles on a tank and anywhere up to potentially 700.
Not sure what the manufacturers say, but that'd be my estimate.

You were in Glasgow? Jeeeesh[&:]you more or less passed my front door....what happened to that beer?....lol
Working not too hard currently in Cumbernauld

I say Glasgow but turned left just before lol . . . And that beer, definitely, you might have to point me in the direction of a decent local staying over type place, as I severely doubt it would just be the one
