What 450hp and 230ft/lbs? Nothing against the Honda, I'd think of buying one for my daughter in 11 years if I don't get her the other girls car... a porsche

I love S2000s. The only Honda I'd ever buy even if it does only have four cylinders. A family friend had one on preorder and was amongst the first in North America to actually get his hands on one. It was/is amazing.

You have yourself two amazing (in totally different ways) cars. Enjoy them!

P.S I don't usually say this, but I love the spoiler. Only tasteful example I've ever seen.

Meh, S2000s are decent (although I don't fit in them) but if we are insistent on Hondas, make mine an NSX.

How big are ya, I fit okay in it but think I have a little more room in the Tivver then the s2000 I drove. It just does nothing for me when you look at it. Perfectly bland with a lovely motorcycle engine. I prefer a car that lets me know when it isn't having a good day.

I love this car! Great engineering for sure! And the spoiler is actually a factory option. I like to keep all my cars looking stock from the outside. No need for flamboyant body pieces when my local police are gunning for more revenue generation!
All the more reason it is a perfect car for my daughter. Fast, no room for her friends but safe and reliable. Just like a Porshe. Boring to me but good for the kid!

I guess I'm kinda weird though I commute to work on a 40 year old lawn mower with brakes which are no better than a good old BMX bike. Yes that does include snow and ice as well. It does have one of the highest hp and torque ratings per liter that Honda ever produced though (at least through the 90s superbikes) and will run all day long at 10k rpms. Sure wish Honda still made decent bikes.

s2000s aren't made for tall people. I thought about buying one a few years back, but I couldn't get my legs under the steering wheel. They look like fun little cars.

As a previous owner of an S2K (that's its nickname, BTW), I can tell you that I was shunned by most other S2K owners for being 1) white and 2) female -- it is not a "girlie" car at all.

The engine noise is so loud that you cannot hold a conversation in the car or hear the radio, and the useless little wind-deflector appears to be more for show than anything else. Although the balance is perfect in the car, the uneducated driver will cause the back end to whip around with only a micro-second's notice. There is a clear learning curve to mastering driving this car when you decide to take it to its limits. (i.e. I double-clutched most of the time to help keep it balanced.)

VTEC is amazing. When it kicks in around 4-5K RPM, it both feels and sounds like a turbocharger; the car takes off like a rocket.

I thoroughly enjoyed the car; I regularly threw it around Summit Point Raceway, then drove it home.

My 6'4" boyfriend, however, was not a fan, and was happy to see it go. But for track time and putting RX8's and slightly older M3's to shame, it really can't be beat.

P.S. One other interesting note about the car: your only choices are interior/exterior color, nothing else. All other "options", like a titanium shift knob, are accessories.

As you said you're 24 years old... About the same amount of time TVR has used the slogan "Porsche's are for girls" and if you have ever driven a tivs you'd be in 100% agreement. It is an experience not matched by many road legal cars. I'd say a Viper or a Morgan comes closest but even those are a little too refined.

To quote Top Gear "If you buy a Honda, you get well, a Honda".

Hmmm the OP deleted all of their posts. Weird.

An S2K is definitely not a chick car. I have yet to see a female driving one... except in the movie. I have also never seen a female driving a Porsche (car)... plenty in Cayennes though.

Well granted we dont have TVRs here in the US but I wish we did, I guess I can understand why it would call a Porsche girly bc of how "raw" the 2 are versus one another.

I owned a current generation Viper with headers and a racing exhaust on it. Definitely by far the most "pure" mass production car ive had.

One day I drove it back to back with a Z06 Corvette I had at the time....needless to say the Corvette felt like a Cadillac afterwards.

I would love to try a Morgan also

Last time I checked, my TVR was imported legally, smogged and federally certified. Drove it today in fact. Granted it is older than you are but they were imported to the states for 40 or so years up until 87. Sure by todays standards mine isn't fast but back in the early 80s it was one of the quicker cars sold here. It is simply a gokart for the road. Steering and turn in is simply based on how strong you are. Plus nothing else makes that kind of noise. I idle louder than the XJR is at full throttle and everything is pretty much stock. One of the neighbors who rides an open pipe harley asked me not to drive it to work at 5am. I laughed.

Now it should get pretty quite when the Ford 4.9 gets built and installed. Not looking for much. Just 300 or so horses should pull the 2200lbs around quite nicely, considering I'll gear it to top out around 130 (at which point the front end currently begins to take flight).

Yeah I noticed that too, hope I didn't offend ya Patrick, to each his/her own. I just find nothing Honda has ever produced to be my kind of car. Sorry to ya if you got offended, I believe in truthful posts and an honest discussion in life, not simply eye candy. I think overall it would do the country better if we could discuss our differences rather than what is going on now esp. politically. No offense meant and I was very truthful in that I would buy it for my daughters first car.

Do like many of Honda's older bikes though. There are plenty of cars I wouldn't be caught dead driving (unless my wife was in the passenger seat). Porsches are chicks cars just as much as the XK conv. is a chick car (doesn't mean I don't love the design). I just picture a 45=55 year old cougar driving it, not a midlife crisis guy or a young highschool kid lusting over it. Then again, they're lusting over Honda's with fart cans these days anyways.

Don't even get me started on the new trend in retro muscle cars. The new Rustangs, Camaros and Chargers simply make me want to throw up. Remember your past and honor it, don't try to relive it. Design for today and your future will be bright. As much as I like the classic Jags, I do like their break from the aging designs and so long as they can keep quality up with the new owners I like the direction they are taking even if I'm not so crazy about some of the new styling just yet.

Here's a technical artcile I wrote on the Honda S2000.

I love the engineering. It's a shame it was canceled with no successor.
