Default Do Asteroids fit my car?

Hey All,

I LOVE the 18" Asteroid wheel, but I was told by a Jag wrecker here in LA that they won't at ALL fit a 1990 XJS.

Anybody know better, before I scour the Earth looking for a set of 4?

THANX IN ADVANCE....

i have a set of 18" 'Flute ' alloys on my 1989 XJS ,

rears bolted right on , the fronts needed a 25mm ( 1" ) hub centric adaptor , these were from an XK8 ( pre ford stud fitment )

no issues what so ever

Here's mine, but there's a problem with the fronts - the spacers used to fit them are loose and cause the wheels to rattle around on the hub. What part do I need?

To do the fronts properly, the spacer needs to be machined to fit snugly in the centre bore, mine are also bolted to the rims making them part of the rim (spacers are illegal here in Australia). I would not use off the shelf spacers for this reason.

I personly don't trust spacers. But, some are awful and some at least passable.

Check LnrB's post on the XJ6 list.

Oh, and with spacers, the original bolts/studs may be too short.

Really good point Carl,

I have 16x8 BBS XJ40 fitment so +33 offset, rears fit without modification, fronts needed to change offset. The shop I bought my rims from machined spacers to reduce offset to +20 for the fronts. These spacers are bolted to the inside of the rims. I should have kept the acron nuts on the front and put longer studs in the hubs, but I didn't and had the mounting holed enlarged to accept long mag nuts, same as the Starfish nuts but longer in the threaded shank to ensure the correct bite on the stud.
