Hi guys,
Got myself a xj40, 3.6 88’ jag recently.😬
Been slowly fixing her up, and came across two vacuum hoses from throttle body thats just hanging loose. One of the hoses is blocked off .... my question is, does anyone have a digram or some sort of information where should these go?
Added some photos( black hoses with white
stripes, shown on photo)
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
It's possible that the Workshop Manual has a diagram of the vacuum hoses - I'm not aware of a free pdf version, but the last time I checked you could still purchase the manual from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
Off the top of my head, at least three systems operate with vacuum: the Exhaust Gas Recirculation, Secondary Air Injection, and Cruise/Speed Control systems. In case it may be helpful, here's the parts diagram for the Throttle Body, showing two described as "breather hoses":
Here's the parts diagram for the EGR system:
Here's the parts diagram for the SAI system (I didn't get the full parts list in my snip):
And here's the parts diagram for the Cruise/Speed Control system:
You can view these parts diagrams at jaguarlandroverclassicparts.com.
Hopefully another member will be able to offer some more specific help.
