I am looking to replace my lower damper / bush for my rear shocks. The SLS has been removed and the rear shocks are SACHS 170 - 122. My mechanic said these were standard for XJ300s that came later. (They came with a kit)
When I go to SNG website to purchase the bush, it tells me that part CCC6782 has been replaced by C2D4013.
On the Jaguar Classic website, they show C2D4013 as fitting a very different series of cars.
Does anyone have any experience here?
AND, more importantly, does anyone know if a polyurethane version of this bush exists?

The very late XJ40s have the same rear suspension as the X300s, with the cast iron lower control arms. If your car has that suspension, the lower shock bushing is called a "spherical joint," and those bushings are scarce and very expensive. It is actually less expensive to purchase entire new Bilstein shock absorbers which come with new spherical joints and cylindrical yellow foam rubber bushings. The current Jaguar price for the spherical joints alone is £91.39!

If, on the other hand, your car has the XJ40 suspension, the lower shock bushings were not offered separately by Jaguar, as far as I can recall and as far as the parts diagrams indicate. However, some of the aftermarket parts suppliers may offer them. You might be able to find a suitable bushing by dimension. Here's the diagram of the stamped-steel lower control arm:

Cast iron versus stamped steel rear suspension design
This post made me wonder which of the two designs is better? It sounds like it is easier, if they are interchangeable, to use the later cast iron suspension since the shocks and bushings come together. But does anyone know the advantages of the new design?
lemforder uses the same bushings for many of the OEMs they work with.
this is the MB cross reference, I got two aftermarket ones for $20. you can install it without even removing the shocks, put the rear of the car on ramps and about 400 pounds in the trunk, ball joint press and a 1” socket will get it done.
