Well, with just under 2 weeks to go I made a few last minute checks today..........

Spoke to the Distillery and we're all good, they're expecting us and all staffed up ready good to go, the restaurant manager has plenty of supplies of bacon rolls, tea / coffee etc waiting
Lunch will be available for those that want it too.
They also said they'll reserve the first 5 car park spaces nearest the walkway to the entrance at the distillery, that said..........

To anyone that may arrive first, please refrain from parking in the spaces in the central row from the Famous Grouse, where my XJ and the Volvo is pictured below. If they are not reserved if you could please place a hold on them as they're needed for the cars with the organisers and items needed for the day....Thanks in advance.

Forum decals, itinerary and sponsor sheets, all leaflets / pamphlets and business cards, boxes of SNG Barratt gift bags c/w pen, notepads etc, dashboard information sheets and name badges all now ready good to go, cluttering up my spare room..........Mrs C is not a happy bunny!

Just waiting on a few more items from Nokian / Nordic tyres to arrive shortly to complete this and then the mammoth bag packing exercise can begin.

Tesco.com are arranging a delivery tonight for 9 o'clock with some goodies for snacks for the bags too

All gift certificates either received or made ready good to go, just awaiting the return of the forum banner from Mr Sheldon after his meet this Sunday

Still 4 spaces left for any late comers to the party

Lastly, although it's a totally FREE day, with no costs incurred other than getting there n back, I would suggest you bring plenty of cash with you. The prizes this year are pretty awesome....

1. SNG Barratt £25 gift voucher and Jaguar umbrella
2. Prestige Jaguar1 - service voucher worth £120
3. Mr Tint1 - window tinting voucher worth £120
4. Prestige Jaguar2 - service voucher worth £120
5. Mr Tint2 - window tinting voucher worth £120

7.Mackies Transmissions service voucer worth approx £300.00
8. Goodman metwalworks - £200 CASH

10. Nokian /Nordic tyres - Full set of summer tyres for Jaguar car worth approx £400 - £500

As always, it's fully expected that there may be one or two who have to drop out for various reasons. Currently there are 6 spaces left and I can accommodate any late additions right up to and including Tuesday 30th May, after which time it will be too late, so get your name in quick if interested.

There'll be a final text update on the day before the meet.
Look forward to seeing you all there

Glen Turret Distillery meet Crieff Sun June 4th details

Well, I resisted the temptation these past few months but gave in today, the meet is on, Sunday 4th June
The ultimate venue is Glen Turret distillery in Crieff, from approx. 09.45am onwards on the day. We will be gathering first at Stirling services
located at J9 just off the M9 from approx. 08.30am.
For logistical reasons it may be more suitable for those coming from the North to meet direct at the Distillery.

We should have a nice Jaguar convoy of perhaps 50-60 cars plus leaving the services promptly at 09.00am, the run to Glen Turret will take approx 45 minutes.
The plan will be to hand out "welcome packs" as far as is possible at the services. These will contain various Jaguar literature, sponsors details, keyrings, pens, name badges and dashboard information sheets for you and your vehicle.

It's a personal choice but I would ask that you use the name badges for easy recognition on the day. It will help others to instantly know you and your car and more likely your forum username, helping the day to go more smoothly.
There will also be a rough Itinerary of the day with approximate timings, these won't necessarily be hard n fast but should give an idea of how the day will go.

The Itinerary will be approximately as follows

08.30am Gather at Stirling services initial meet point. As far as is possible, welcome packs will be handed out here.

12.15pm - 1.00pm raffle draws held and prizes given

little update..........

Finally made some head way with my spare room this evening. Every item was removed ready for the "welcome pack" to be made up. My son in law and grandson came round and Mrs C got back too around 7.30pm. My old auntie of 70 dropped by for a visit and was also roped in.....lol

With SNG Barratt bags, magazines, leaflets, literature, compliment slips and pens, name badges, pens from Prestige Jaguar and Nokian tyres and pencils from SNG Barratt, various other leaflets and business cards, Mackies Transmissions and ZF posters, pens, notepads, Jaguarforums decals, mint sweets, water bottle, can of coke, crisps and chocolate, as well as the odd Jaguar poster and Prestige air fresheners, these welcome packs have it all.
Of course the itinerary of the day and sponsor sheets et all are all included too of course.

At somewhere between 25- 30 items per bag an around 100+ bags that around 3000+ items, we finished around 9.45pm there or thereabouts lol

I reckon each member bag has a value of somewhere around £10 each worth of goodies / info etc

All done and gift vouchers and cash prizes all checked good to go too. The banner is on its way up from the Southern meet being transported by Tracy and Cameron ( who are doing both meets this year!! )

Moving onwards n upwards n ever closer to the day

Cheers all

Jim

A cracking effort Jim & team, well done.

Here's hoping for good weather on the day, and also good weather on Saturday to facilitate all the vehicular preening that will be required!

Only a couple of days to go now until the big day. I know the amount of work you put into this Jim and really genuinely wish you the very best for a fantastic Jaguar day there!

I managed to get away a little earlier and make some headway with my car today
The interior was fully cleaned, leather conditioned etc just a month or so ago, so it was a quick repeat with leather balm, vacuumed and dash etc cleaned n treated
The engine bay is always pretty clean anyway, but a quick going over means that's all good too. Wheel wells cleaned and treated with Wet n Black and wheels cleaned thoroughly right through

I also managed a quick wash / dry and let of an AC bomb throughout the system....job done
Chances are I'll give her the once over with PB Blackhole tomorrow and that'll be that, then get the cars loaded up and final checks done for early doors on Sunday morning

See you all there.......
Jim
