Sounds like you've arrived here with some serious problems. For best advice you should add further detail:

1. model and year
2. where you are - approximate area and how far you're prepared to travel
3. if the engine is in the car/out of the car
4. complete or stripped
5. just worn or damaged

Just guessing but the regular problem with the V8 is the results of overheating .......

I can +1 that as my previous V8 overheated.. mind you, that car had done 190000 miles, and had the engine changed one halfway through it's life :-)
